I am losing interest in San Diego/Seaworld for various reasons. I would love to hire someone to help clean my house. There is no one I really trust that I know. Ted's iPad broke and was supposed to be replaced by yesterday. It has not happened yet. I have a hard time thinking of ways to keep him entertained and away from the min-bar. He would want to rearrange it all to suit his ideas.
Mostly it is just hotter than I expected it to be this week.
I have a rack of ribs in the crock pot steaming with spices and onions. I will finish those on the grill for dinner tonight. With a fresh tomato salad and some mac n cheese on the side. Strawberries dipped in whipped cream for after.

I do think it is working already. It did after Sandy hit the east coast too. It is nice that FB is good for something beyond gab.

yes I hate to go grocery shopping but only because of the cost---I can remember being upset because a bag of convienence foods cost $10.00...Oh how I wish I could shop that cheaply now---

getting ready to go pick up a few odds & ends at Wal-mart today.

have a good day everyone..

I have a couple of years worth of foods socked away. If I couldn't go out to shop, we could eat pretty well. And I can grow fresh from stored seeds as well. If I am without power from a big quake and lose the use of my freezers and cooking apparatus, I'm still good to go. Life is more fun when you only shop because it feels right on this day or there is a great sale-not-to-be-missed.
Ted's school year is complete. He will have 3 weeks of summer session and then be off all of July. Back to school the first week of Aug for his next year.

wow Tina, it sounds as if you are ready for any eventuality--good for you!!!

Tomorrow I have to go and sit for my grandson, as his regular sitter is "on vacation"...this will be a good day for me....

BUT I will be gone early & all day--so if I am not around, no one should be alarmed--I will be back tomorrow night at some point---

We don't really have a lot of natural disasters here in Oregon, but I do have rations of canned and dried foods in case something does occur.

I have a question for you ladies; I have a pretty heavy credenza that I bought to use as a dresser but I can't lift it myself, what do you think i should do about soliciting assistance? My mom told me to call a "handy man" and I was semi shocked lol... I was thinking I'd go up to the college campus and see if i could recruit some "college movers" but I'm not sure how well that'd go...

And on the topic of shopping, I actually rather like shopping... Depends on my mood with food shopping, but I'm always down to play dress up, I like getting all spiffy :)

You can try a college. I like the idea of helping someone who is helping themselves. How far do you have to move it?

I agree with the college kids thing. Maybe hang up a little flier or craigslist or something like that? I'm suddenly feeling very overwhelmed with everything. I've been doing ok, remarkably ok actually, but now not so much. Just kind of hit me. I don't know what to do with myself. I'm forcing myself to do things. Today I showered and finished my short story. I read a little more of the series that I'm beta reading. I didn't nap either. Got stuff to do tomorrow with my soon to be ex husband. Break ups suck.

James you could always look in the newspaper---often there are ads from men/boys looking for some extra work that would be willing to help you-

Cheryl--good luck with everything---remember we are here for you.

Tina, thank you so very much. kissie

Up 3 steps, through two hallways, up a flight (17) of stairs, down a small hallway... It's heavy as heck though; it's a Credenza vs a long dresser, but it'll do either in a jif...

James, I'd call movers, that way if someone gets hurt...you won't get the bill.

Have fun with the baby Carol grin and Tina enjoy your time off with Teddy.

Cheryl, you need to get out of the house.. Put those sneakers on and run.

Storming here, so much rain. We'll be losing power soon.

Updated now; since we're no longer affiliate with TGH I'm not really comfortable with linking to their site but I have future plans (just not the assistance to get them done immediately).

The first day I hung my hummingbird feeder at my new place I saw a hummingbird check out my feeder. Didn't feed, maybe because it had just fed on the poppies near by, but at least it know's it there and it did catch it's attention. I like having feeders outside my window. Today wasn't such a good day for me but tomorrow will be better. I can start working out at the gym tomorrow.

I've had very little luck with hummingbird feeders here; it seems all I attract are bees... I've seen maybe 2-3 hummingbirds over the last two summers and probably sat and watched bees ultimately fiddle around with the feeder... I'd rather have the hummingbirds lol...

James get a HB feeder with a ant guard on it,, I always make sure I don't have sugar on the out side of the feeder when I rehang it, You can get ant guard feeders at backyard bird shops,, they have really good ones!,and while you're there ask them about the bees around you're feeder they have great ideas for things like that

Chery your days will get easier,, and I'm glad you have feeders out where you are,, get you camera out and start taking pictures again , fill your time up with things you really enjoy doing but didn't really have the time for before,, You do YOU, and things YOU like to do, and you'll find you'll like life again real quick kissie

I could never find one at Walmart,, Back yard Birds have them,, Birds Unlimited have them yep they cost a little more,, you can also order them on line,, you have to make sure the ant guard is sealed to the lid, Not one that slides up and down cuz with the sliders the ants can still get in.

James, Diane, keep an eye out---some places have little ant motes that one attaches to their feeders to keep the Ants out of the feeders.

yeah I've tried the ant motes didn't work they crawled right under it and went on in,, sneaky little ants,, rspb

where I used to live I had a problem with the ants really bad,, I moved the feeder to a different area and I didn't have a problem after that,, I have learned NOT to hang it from a low tree branch, ants LOVE that! zoink

I have more trouble with bees--I have learned to put all my plastic flowers in the holes of the hummingbird feeder as a result.----(I was keeping half out so my Orioles can share the feeder with the hummers)---

Good Morning ,
Up and moving early again today- Nicoli had a bad attack last night so we are off to the lab for blood tests while he is still bad.. doc left standing orders for this to see if something will show up in his blood when it hits.. so far rest of tests aren't showing anything...

On a happier note Derek actually went to Sams with us and did really well... so we are making progress... and we are planning our weekend get away to the B&B on Father's day weekend... just being away will be nice...

I started the laundry and got the kitchen redded up -- old expression from my Mom...LOL ! Do we all turn into our Mom's eventually..?

Well off to get my hair dry ... take my meds and be ready for Carrie when she gets here...

But hey, this morning is going to be fun--I get to see my sister's dress for her son's wedding.... shewinks
