I can relate to "too close for comfort"...when the tornado here last year killed so many of my neighbors, and didn't even knock my garbage cans over.

It's a "Forum Rule". I would have thought you would have known that after all our TomFoolery on here!

teach "When 2 members post at virtually the same time the one who calls 'You owe me a beer' first is the winner, and the loser has to pay up"
(Beer can be substituted with any drink of choice, iced tea, Jim Beam, Pepsi, Wild Turkey 101, Sprite, Jim Beam.....etc)

Hi all,

Diane I have had both in the last few years... we like Sams better ... here anyway cause they carry more varieties I think... and the employees at ours anyway are nicer... we have the + membership cause we use it for carrie too... gives us more hours to shop and a slightly bigger discount... during school year we get a lot of the kids lunch stuff there... just my opinion though...

It's supposed to get warm here today and trigger thunderstorms,, we can use the rain so won't complain much... want to keep it green as long as we can... already have water rationing on so have to watch when we water....

Well off to get my breakfast .. slept in a little today... need to do my upstairs cleaning before it gets to warm up there to do it... and go dig our the window fans to exhaust the heat out too... keep my house a little cooler... the big cooler will be in soon if this keeps up....

Have a good day all!
Nana

Diane - we have Costco and BJ's here. I have been a member of Costco since they opened here - probably about 8 years ago or so. I rarely shop there! I don't have the need or the storage room to buy in bulk, though I do really like their salmon and a few other things. Don usually BBQ's the salmon in the summer and I cook it indoors in winter. I have also bought all of our cell phones in a kiosk there, getting the accessories packages for free. Also got Amy's and my point and shoot digital cameras there for great prices. Oh, and on the rare occasion I have found some nice clothes that wasn't very expensive. You might do well for the boys in that department.

Some of their over-the-counter meds are very good prices also. For example, I get their store brand of Prilosec for Dad, who takes a LOT of it daily, and it saves loads on that.

That said... the one bonus that BJ's has here over Costco is that they take manufacturer's coupons while Costco will not. I had a year's membership to BJ's one year when Don's old company offered a group membership. Again... I rarely went there - it's in the large mall here that I try to avoid at all costs.

Can you try a 1 day pass at each to see which you like better? I know BJ's here gives that. I actually have a 2 month coupon that I need to bring over, in case there is something I'd like to get there.

Good luck - let us know which you chose?

Thanks Lynne for the info, I can use a one day pass,, I used to have a member ship at sams, so I know what sams is about,, People at work favor costco,, and it's closer to my house than sams,, Sams has more gardening stuff, and cheaper prices per items but is it worth the drive there to save a few pennies with gas prices as they are?

woooohoooooooo I finally got myself a camera party

an up grade of the one I had stolen, and cost less, cuz I had 40$ on my rewards card at Bestbuy,, I redeemed that plus it was on sale,, it has more features, longer zoom, it's prettier,, it's really a deep plum color,, now I can get away from the cell phone camera although it's handy I can get back to clear crisp pictures again,

Which coolpix model is that? I have one, it's older but still a great camera. Perfect non-dslr camera, in my opinion.

The only thing I don't like about Sam's is that they are Walmart and Walmart is evil, in my opinion. That said, I used to have a membership there and the only thing I didn't like was that the savings was on all name brand stuff. They didn't really have generic so you get the name brand stuff for cheaper than in the regular stores. And they have really good italian meatballs. And their eggs are cheap.

Nice camera! thumbup I still don't know how to use the settings on the camera Bill got me. He taught me a few of them, the one I use for close-ups is nice. Guess I need to experiment with it, or look it up online to learn the settings.

Me and Bill used to go to Costco all the time. Had some good deals there.
My favorite part was the food court! YUM!

I shop there , because they are the cheapest place in town, but yes it is evil--one day they will be THE only game in town & then we will ALL pay dearly--not to mention we will buy what they want us to in the quanity that they want us to....

apparently the bad storm is headed this way.

WE told valarie to park her car in the garage & we would leave my car out (it is 13 years old) but she called her DH & so now she is going to stay with him in their St louis house tonight so I could have a garage...but then I image that her DH is happy for that--he had wanted her to come stay with him mid week plus the weekend--well she is just doing the weekends---
remember when the school year ends, she will move down south to their other house there...

SO... now I have a garage for my car & my plants in pots...

Oh my goodness this is so sad. I am hopeful they find more survivors. We had bad thunderstorms..my grocery store in the next to.town has no roof, so guess i will not be going grocery shopping today as planned. Then Mt. Olive, IL has no power & many buildings are damaged. Both towns still has power outages. We are doing ok thankfully. Praying for all of the people in the path ok the storms in oklahoma and the surrounding areas. I had heard that the tornado was 1 mile wide and slow moving. So sad.

Good morning. I woke early and got caught up in the news. Such sadness involved. Many prayers coming from my direction.
Tomorrow is Ted's last day of school. Then we have a week and a half off before summer session begins. I had plans to go stay in a hotel during some of that time and do Seaworld and things. I am losing interest in doing that right now. I need to spring clean my messes up here first.
