I still haven't had the energy to go out and re-arrange all of the stones; figure I'll put it off till the weekend, and see if I end up putting it off any more lol...

James, what a difference.

Belinda, it looks great...but I feel so sad for you needing a storm shelter in the first place.

The straw bale squash is doing well but one of them bales has ants living in it so I put Neem Oil on it. Hope it works.

After all the rain the weeds were going crazy, so I weeded the sidewalk bed, the sidewalk and the foundation bed on the right of the door. And then I pruned back the mums on that side.

I was going to cut grass after that but my arms weren't up to it.

The grass had taken over the beet rows or at least I think it was grass. I don't know for sure what beets look like coming up but I know I didn't plant them that think so I hoed the rows up and am thinking of planting corn.

Well today was a grass cutting day. I've got to go back out and get a picture of one of the miniature roses. It is gorgeous.

Lynne sent me a few water lily tubers, and I just today put them in pots and and then into my half barrel. I am now anxious for them to grow !!!

I then weeded my rocked area some and afterwards moved on to my flower bed out in the yard----gee winter is so long one tends to forget all the weeding that needs done.. rolz

Yesterday I went outside to bring in all my new potted plants, a few new small trees, and flowers because we were in a frost/freeze warning last night. I ended up staying out and weeding the waterfall hill for 2 1/2 hours. Also dug up some ajuga that was running down too far and spread it more over the hill to help stop the erosion of the hill.

I'm excited, got the cash together to have the back yard leveled on Wednesday and will have a 14'x14' pad for my gazibo area and grill...

We've never really been able to do anything with my back yard, so finally being able to have it as something other than a steep hill sounds nice :).

Am planning several raised garden beds as well, all veggie/herb, but it'll take quite a bit of time to get everything pieced together, but I'll have plenty of projects this summer! :).

new dirt....that sounds so exciting. party

Storm shelter; yes sad that I need one but I want it to look pretty. Not just a hole we go hide in you know.... bow I have to look at it when I'm outside and I like my yard to look nice. going to add more dirt. been waiting for it to settle... then add grave to the top. I don't know if I'll be adding plants or not, haven't really decided yet

Typing up a "what needs done" for the contractors tomorrow, 3-4 tiers of leveling need done then i get to see if the above ground popup pool isn't busted (it's been under a tarp for years, so 50/50 chance).

They're pouring a 14'x14' slab right off of the deck then I am planning on a walk way to the faucet using quikrete molds then several raised beds... I can't wait to get started lol...

I did more weeding tonight---I really should have planted the seeds that Dodge sent me--they would have gotten rained on that way.

So true about the weather.

Today I managed to dig the weeds out from under the edging at the corner of the foundation bed. Now I need to move the car to get to the rest of it. Maybe tomorrow.

Then I tore up the compost pile so that I could add more grass. Now I just have to cut the grass. Always something right?

Got out there early to beat the heat and hoed some grass out. I still need to work on the carrot rows but I made progress. I watered everything too. I can't believe I'm saying this but I hope it rains soon.

well, let's see---I have a jet star tomato plant--yep, so far just one. And my herbs are coming up--well, all but my basil---why didnt it over-winter ??? So when I buy my other toms I will likley buy a new basil plant.

Today I finally cleaned out my gardening bench---& put all my odds & ends in drawer like things---so now most of my little stuff is in conainers behind closed doors--all that is out really is my small cardboard container with a handle that I carry around my hand spade, my gloves & such in--and so it looks so much better---I threw away one 30 gallon bag of "things", my DH should be pleased.

I also bought the plants for my large pot that goes on the front porch---I guess I will plant them tomorrow night----

Hey Barb,

I just went out & planted the poppy seed that you sent me--(it is damp & cool out & it promises to rain today)---I have a section of wild flowers that had a bare area---so now hopefully that bare spot will be filled with poppies every year--YAY !!!!!

Thanks so much...
