I don't cook much. But occassionally I'll get in the mood.

Recently I tried the joy of cooking recipe for biscuits. Wonderful! Even with powdered milk reconstituted. I've made some biscuits that were harder than rock so I really enjoyed these. Of course when something turns out well it doesn't last long.

The other thing I just picked up the last ingredient for is a black bean and roasted corn salad. This recipe is to die for. At least to me. It has the hispanic flare that I like. In fact I like it so much that I planted cilantro in the garden this year just to support this one recipe.

What recipes are on your "Foodie Bucket List?"

I'm looking for a recipe that will turn canned chicken breast into real food.
And with the pear trees outside I'm also looking for recipes that call for pears canned or fresh.

I cook with canned chicken all the time, just be sure to drain as much "juice" off as you can... I've used it in enchilada's, casserole's, you name it...

I love cheddar biscuits, Bisquick makes it a load easier than doing it from scratch though...

Whenever I can add it I love using black beans, such a nice flavor and it's got more fiber in it than just about any other bean...

One of my favorite things to eat is my Teriyaki Chicken; the recipe takes hours to render down to the right consistency that I go for; not exactly the worlds healthiest thing once you look at how much sugar ends up in it though lol...

I always keep canned chicken in the pantry...good for a quick chicken salad sandwich. And like James said, fast, easy enchiladas.

I make these a lot. Yum, with garlic butter melted on top.

For biscuits...nothing like Pillbury Frozen biscuits...taste better than anything I could ever make.

I have never seen canned chicken...what a great idea. You'd never find anything like that here.

Interesting. I'll try draining the chicken. the first time I tried it I was not happy. I was thinking about grilling it just a bit to give it the grill marks, slightly charred flavor. I like the idea of using it for chicken salad. What do you put in yours?

They have canned full chickens (yuck) and canned shredded chicken meat; would highly advise the second over the gelatinous blob that is the first...

I will be 60 years old here shortly, and I have never seen a whole chicken in a can... zoink

when whomever said canned chicken, I assumed they meant the pieces cut up in a tuna can like what Diane said...

I see both in the store quite common... I like the shredded small cans of chicken; I see them everywhere.
