I have had a clump of Bergenias in my garden for several years. They are planted in shade, and have plenty of leaves and there are new plants being generated as noticed by the new rosettes of leaves. Some of the offspring I have planted elsewhere or just potted up. However, I have not had a flower on any of the plants for a few years now, and I am now considering ditching and planting something else in their place.

Before I take this action, is there anyone out there who could advise as to what the problem is, and what remedial action I can take. I do remember the time when the Bergenia did produce flowers, and they had quite a nice perfume.

I don't know what the problem could be,, do you fertilize them with bloom burst or equivalent?
