Hi everyone I have two large spider plants, one is the regular variety and one is the curly kind, the straight leaf lady has about ten spiderettes ( babies ) and the curly leaf only has one. I have two spiderettes currently rooting in water. Does anyone else keep spider plants?

yes I have 2 spider plants that I am sad to say I neglect mainly--but at one time I had a varigated one with many many babies & was very healthy---They are very nice plants to my notion.

The ones now are also varigated---which is my favorite one.

I have been wanting to get another one...I gave all my plants away when I moved to Washington. I thought a spider plant hanging near Lola's cage would be nice, since it is OK for parrots to eat them, and she could climb on the macrame hanger. But, got to thinking she might then think she could fly over to the philodendron (poisonous) and eat it, too...so I have decided no spider plant. I love them...think they are so beautiful.

It wouldn't matter. I wouldn't want her to think she could eat just any plant, so better to be safe than sorry and not get any. I grow organic wheat grass for her to eat...and I hold her while she eats it.

I keep my babies also, I used to have a flat leafed all green, and it got enormous with lots and lots of babies, but sadly, I forgot about it this winter and it is sadly no longer with us. But I recently purchased a varigated curly leafed one from a local greenhouse, and love it!

Me too, it's crazy....back home I had never really seen a varigated or curly leaf, all I had was green and now...... nadda.... Good Luck!
If I find one, I'll try to post it and will share the babies!

When I moved from another state, the humidity and heat did that to my all green one. I'm not sure what climate you live in, but mine seemed not to like all the heat.
