Today in Rocky Mount Va. it ...is....spring!!! clap

I pulled on a sweatshirt with my jeans and went on one of my walk-abouts. flowers are bloomin' all over the place! grin The sun is nice and warm. There's that brush of green across all the forests, and the weeping willows really are weeping leaves. They're so pretty.
And, I actually saw a bird with bits of straw stuff in it's beak. Is it too early for them to be nest building? Or, if spring feels like spring does that tell them to nest? why

bluebirds start nesting sometimes as early as February and robins are one of the first birds to start. So maybe you'll have babies soon.

It's nice here today too. No wind. It's hard to believe it will be freezing tomorrow.

Oh good! I've seen Robins for a few weeks, and there is a blue bird nest box on a pole by the garage, I watch every year out my window. Goodie!

Last year on March 20th it was 83 degrees.
Tonight it will be 15 degrees.
What a difference a day makes here! (...or a year...)

I reckon when it gets 100 degrees this summer I'll be blamed for that, too.

Good morning wavy

Another day. The months are flying by! Can't wait to see how today developes. If it is nice with no wind my grandson and I will walk down to the park after homework. Maybe take snack with us, like a mini picnic.

yea, Kim--me too=---25* here--really ??? must say, I have NO idea why I live in Illinois---I shall blame my family----I just wonder, when there are a lot of states that have warmer more even weathered temps---why would a person live here-- rolz--BUT on the up side, we are 1 day closer to summer---hopefully it will warm up by then, huh ???

My snow crocus need the leaves removed--they are being smothered & so are not blooming like they might---BUT if I remove the leaves, surely they will freeze---this happens every year--- rolz

Going to see my sister today---so that shall be entertaining...

Good morning. I will not talk weather. I am sorry for all suffering with a lingering winter.
I need to make a couple quick errands out today. And maybe really cook something. I haven't cooked for a few days.

'morning all

Very cold here as well, and after the 6 inches we got Monday night, they are saying we might get some flurries today, and perhaps measurable snow on Monday. Say it isn't so!

Carol - my bulbs are all up about 3 inches, BUT... the #$@% deer are so desperate this year, that they've already come around and topped them all off. No telling if I will get to see a single bulb flower this year once again. PHOOEY!

The garbage can fell backwards when I fell into it, so I just slithered out of it backwards like I did last time I fell in.
I am sooooo sore now! My belly hit the top edge, my arm feels like it is almost dislocated, and my head hit the side going in and felt like it tore my ear off. I laughed my @ss off, as usual.
I'm glad I keep my trash can pretty clean...and it was empty because I was bringing it back from the curb. thumbup

Juniegirl, are you and your BIL taking your sister somewhere?

My 5 year old grand daughter broke her ankle yesterday at the growth plate and can't bear weight for 2 weeks. Can you imagine a 5 year old who has to sit still. I'm going tomorrow and we're going to try to get her in a position to dye Easter eggs. Pray for us.

It's going to be hard and will get worse as the weeks wear on. The doc said if she puts weight on it and injures it more her leg may end up shorter than the other so we've got to keep her off it.

Well good luck with keeping her still.... can't imagine how to do it with all the experience I have with the boys... they just don't know how to sit still....

It's been a good long week here -- seems like it is dragging along this week.... my crocus are blooming now- a couple of them-- just in time for more snow maybe this weekend... or rain or both... hateing this up and down weather... keeps me aching so much....

Boys have a half day tomorrow- so I will get boys.. Jon is going in to work so I don't get my Fri off this week... hopefully they will be good... will be inside if weather gets as bad as they say it might... course we may get nothing too... I think they spin a big wheel and say whatever it lands on....LOL!

Well off to finish dinner...

Have a good evening all...

Sheri, my sister is recovering from her back surgery....., so as her DH is going to go back to work, he would feel better if she were not left alone.--We have a good time, so kit is no strain on me. Tomorrow we May go to the tea room where her D-I-L to be works, but for sure we will make a cake that she wants to try.

Good news is my sister's DH only works part time, as he is a retired coal miner. so I do not have to be there say, 5 days a week---(not that I would mind)

So sorry to hear about your granddaughters broken ankle, Sheri--I do so hope that they are able to keep her quiet for long enough---that is going to be one tough job indeed....Poor baby-- kissie

good night everyone, Sweet Dreams

Junie, I misread your post. I thought it said you're BIL was off work today instead of off to work. I remember that your sister had surgery now. Thanks.

My grand daughter is doing well so far. She has a little wheel chair and a little walker and seems to understand that she has to be careful. She's always been older than her years. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts for her. We had a grand time dying, glittering, and painting Easter eggs.

dodge, we did have a beautiful day. It was 25º but no wind so I loved it. Thanks for sending the sunshine.

I don't even know what "BIL" means..... blush

Glad your granddaughter is doing OK with the "mobility" issues. I have broken a few bones in my day but the feet have always been the worst. Guess maybe because I never stayed off it when healing. (That's because I was a grown up and nobody was my boss but ME! ...and I have always been a bad influence on myself)
