I purchased a houseplant recently from my local supermarket. It came in a crock with a cactus and a hard shell covering the top with instructions on how to bottom water it. Today I noticed the leaves on the plant seem to be diseased. I'm wondering if someone can diagnose the disease and recommend how to treat it. Thanks in advance. I am new to this website and forum.

Too much sun or too much water maybe?? Has your plant improved since you've had it?

have you misted the plant? sometimes water spots will turn brown, or too much humidity, shows brown spots with a yellow ring around it> I would cut off the spotted areas so the fungus doesn't spread. Make sure the leaves stay dry.

are there several clean leaves?? if so I think I would remove the infected leaves, & possibly re-pot the plant, and when the plant is out of the dirt, spray the plant & roots with tepid water & then pat it dry before replanting.

it could not hurt & it might help--- why
