I have trees, and they have grown very close together. So when one falls it has a tendency to get hung up in other trees rather than hitting the ground. I need to clear the 4 trees that have fallen in the last year. Can someone tell me the safest way to do that?

I could do it, but can't tell you how. Had 15 years experience in excavation, etc.

Are you using a chain saw or someone else?

Yes, I could do it as well. Years of hands-on experience. And I just don't see a way to describe all the needed hints online.
Using a chain saw is always a dangerous proposition. First and foremost, always have your feet grounded securely and room to maneuver quickly if you need.

tk, do NOT do this alone. I know you can do it alone but there's a chance something can go wrong so DON'T do it alone.

Definitely have an exit stragy in place incase it falls in the wrong direction. And yes solid footing on leaf mulch is a must. Don't want to slip and amputate a leg.

Yes I am using a chain saw.

I would love to have somone with me but noone is willing I've waited a year or more on some of these trees and it needs doing. So, I'll have to continue on, on my own.

Thank you for your concern.

nervous
I can't use a chainsaw. I almost cut my leg off in '94 with one...ruined a good pair of Levi 501's in the process.
I can only take trees down with a dozer...push them over then let someone else cut them up.

I use chainsaws all of the time. And I prefer to work alone so nobody can laugh at my comedy routine.

TK---please be careful---have you tried to "hire" someone to do it, say in trade for some type of yard work/gardening or housecleaning--(any type of work they would prefer) that you could do???

Well I got 3 pieces of the log cut up by walking the dead tree but I'm having a time with the wood binding the chain saw. It I can get it a bit more upright I think I can push it over with the rake so I'll have some distance from it anyway, incase it kicks back or anything. This is the medium one. The big ones I'm not looking forward to at all.

Suggestions are still welcome.
