we\ have gotten rid of 2 couches that way, Cindy---The first time we did it, my Dh just KNEW it would not be picked up (it was my idea)--but it was outside less than 2 hours. The second time we thought well, this couch is shot, no one will want it so we called the trash people to alert them that it would be on the curb awaiting pick-up. well even that one was not outside very long at all before someone came along & took it away-- Both were couch beds as well...
I think that this method is an excellent way to get rid of unwanted things.

water flavored with Blue-Raspberry flavored MIO here.

Coffee for me. Once in a while water or coconut water.
I live out in the boonies. No setting it out onto the road for me. Our last two sofas got broken down into piles of wood, metal and stuffing to get tossed into the dumpster. In small increments.
I am tired even though I took a very good nap today. I am looking forward to my bed tonight.

Tina: I was just posting what I was drinking at the time---I mostly drink the flavored water unless I am drinking coffee w/ milk & sweetner.
perhaps occasionally I might drink watered-down caffiene free pepsi.

it is bed time & now I am wide awake. I have been researching cholesterol meds & high blood sugar readings--it seems that beta blockers AND statins will raise your blood sugar---I do not need to be a diabetic on top of everything else, so now I am wide awake--sheese. egad nono

I guess I will go and watch TV, perhaps THAT will put me to sleep.

Good morning.
Carol, I knew and was also just labeling what I was drinking at the time. And then added what I drink most of the time. It is funny how we alter out lifestyles as we age.
I think that today I will focus on dusting. Or maybe I should wait until the winds die down. Something will get accomplished today. Yesterday it was firewood and bill paying. I like having a daily goal.

Oh Sunny... hope you feel better soon... if it's anything like the bug we all had it's not a fun time at all...

Well we got Christmas put away today... and my living room, and kitchen back to normal... now have to work on office and family room... it needs dusting and the reg stuff put back on shelves etc... Joe is working on basement- putting all the containers and the tree back in their nooks and corners... to cold down there for me...

I have no kids the rest of this week, Jon took off from work so I have time to get this stuff done... got a bunch of cooking to do too.. stews and meatloaves to make up... french toast to do up too... and a couple batches of pancakes too... and blueberry muffins too... gotta fill up my freezer again...

Well off to get started on the family room... get my house back to normal... or as normal as it ever gets..
Nana

I would like to sell some of this stuff at a yard sale but I don't live in a neighborhood. I think someone should start a business of having yard sales for people for a percentage.

Feel better soon, Sunny. One of the girls is driving me crazy tonight. So much attitude towards me. Not my fault she refuses to take care of herself and get enough sleep. Long day today and she's really grumpy and taking it out on me because it's her turn to do dishes. I feel like I could strangle her right now. Two hours I spent making this special dinner and she's upset that there's a few extra pans from my dinner. I really needed to vent. I'm thinking I should do a yoga workout, then a hot shower and bed.

Good Morning !!!!

Cheryl: Sorry about your daughter---teens can be a handful....it is my experience that you need to hang on until they are 21. I still remember my oldest coming home from school after her 21st birhtday. I dont remember the instance now, but my youngest DD looked at me & said "what did you do with my sister?" lol
It still makes me laugh to remember that. Point is, they do grow up eventually.

Good morning. My days of sleeping in are numbered. Ted goes back to school on Monday. It has been a wonderful vacation, though. So I am not complaining.
Teens can be tough. And they do grow up. Most of the time. Hang in there, Cheryl.

Teens do grow up Cheryl...mine grew up into an adult version of the teenage one lol

Thanks for the well wishes, if these fevers would break than I'd feel a bit better, the sore joints are worse than the rest of the sniffly symptoms.

We are under a cold snap...hoping everyone takes their animals indoors here, animals lose ears in this kind of weather. cat

At doctors (hematology and surgeon) all afternoon.
Last (3rd) suspicious lesion removed today...and results of the 2nd one taken off was negative for cancer.

When I pulled in the driveway at 5:30, worn out, my neighbor saw me pull in and came running over with a plate of hot chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes and cornbread. I always seem to end up with the best neighbors!

I was not going to say this. notme
Jonni was pretty nasty as a teen. And then she ran away from home a few days after her 16th birthday for 7 weeks before she was caught. As I was driving her home from the police station in Los Angeles, I explained that her father was ill with a lethal disease. She turned into a wonderful daughter instantly.
I am not suggesting this as a cure for anyone else. But it sure made a big difference in our lives. All of our lives.

I must have been very blessed. Rachel never gave me any trouble, never got in trouble, made straight A's in school and got a scholarship to the Savannah Art School when she graduated. All she did in high school was be a cheerleader and was in special classes where she earned college credits since the 8th grade through high school.

I was a pain in the [BLEEP] when I was that age...I can't imagine what I put my mom through. I was constantly in some sort of trouble. (I blame that on being a teenager in the 70's. You know, all that cool music made us rebel....) lol

I was a teen in the 60's. flower children abounded. It seems like everyone was protesting something and I understood so little of it all. I was focused on leaving high school and getting into college and freedom from childhood in general.
Sweet dreams all. I will be hitting the hay soon.

I graduated High School in 1970...so I was caught in between.

I too wanted out of High school & into College, (and I should have applied muyself more at borth places)
I must say though, at the time, I had no idea that going away to college was an option---( there had been a new college just built that was about 30 miles away from my home )
The drugs and the alcohol was there & readily available--but at the time my health dictated that I stay away from both,--so I can't really say what I might have done as plenty of my friends used both.--It was just what was "normal.
I like to think I was a good daughter, although thru my growning up years there were a few things that I did do that I would change if I were to go back in time. why

G'nite everyone--sleep tight..

I don't think college was ever an option for me. We didn't have much money (dad in the Navy with 4 kids)...so getting out of high school at the time was the goal for my family. Later on when Rachel started school I wanted more education, so took college courses and became a veterinary technician, and then EMT and paramedic certifications...I took every course that I could get into. Had my Blasting License (for dynamite...that is spooky, huh?) when I was 23.
If I could have gone to college I would have been a headshrinker today....that's what I wanted. Now that is REALLY spooky...lol...me being a headshrinker. haha

I'm making progress on my short term resolution - de-cluttering. I've cleaned out the kitchen cabinets and boy do I have a lot of stuff I don't need or want. How do we start out with nothing then end up with too much?

Way to go, Sheri! I have issues throwing things away. But if I can find someone who needs something, it is full steam ahead. I have been unloading stuff for a couple of years. It is so nice to have breathing room and see the bottom of my cabinets too.
Sweet dreams all. I am thinking of heading to bed.

I am about to nap. I was up early to tend to my fire and went back to bed. I have 2 nights to get back on my school schedule. A short nap today will be helpful if I don't overdo it. Dinner tonight is planned and easy.

The flu is considered "widespread" in Kentucky right now.

NOW I'm glad I got a flu shot.

I really, really hope we don't have to deal with the flu in my house this year. And I hope the ones who are dealing get over it quickly and well. And no one else comes down with it.
I never did nap today. Now I am glad because I should be able to fall asleep quickly and soon. Sweet dreams all.

I had to go to the grocery today (out of salmon and almost out of tuna!)
Vision is not really good enough for me to be driving...I almost backed into a car. Have a dr appt tomorrow in a different town...guess I'll see if mom can take me.
