Nice suprise Sheri,, I am flattered...I just got that planter there last week an thought gee good place for that card.
Story behind the red cardinal.
When I first gotten married I visited an old aunt of mine.. Moms side. She needed a bedroom suite removed an we had no furniture.. She gave me the bedroom as well as a few nicknacks an it was a red cardinal........I have loved the bird since....
Thanks bunches.glad you like my quilted made tree.....

Did you buy that planter for yourself or was it a gift? It looks like metal. I love those. I have a metal one sort of like it but without the pretty birds on the closed in porch.

That's a nice story about your aunt. Good memories.

I think I see so many cardinals that I take their beauty for granted. I need to stop and look at the birds.

I so wish the digital camera was working.

I went to the consignment store the other day and got a box of clear irridescent tree ornaments in a number of different shapes. They are so cool and I got the entire box for 2 bucks. I couldn't beat that with a stick. Now I'm just waiting on a 5 foot tree. Some day I'll be able to afford one. Along with that I got a ceramic sleigh. I don't know why I love sleighs but I do.

I'm not a good shopper. I only find deals once in a while.

I bought 4 tin stars for the tree yesterday, on clearance for .50 cents a piece. Wish I would have gotten there early.... everything was already gone. (buy 1 get 1 free sale)

That sounds like a nice deal. I have a book on tin ornament crafts. So far I've done one Scandinavian Star but I got the measurements wrong. I'm not good at crafts that require cutting and measuring. But I keep trying.

I also bought some modeling clay from the dollar store....plan for grandbaby and I to make some ornaments today for the tree. We'll roll it out and use the cookie cutters for shapes.

One package makes 8 ornaments I was told...cheap for $1.

Today I am going to purchase one of those little tree-shaped pine-scented car odor things and put it up on a wall. I'll pile the gifts on the coffee table underneath it and call it my Christmas tree.
No stress.

Tina...some of the college kids just bought a roll of green decorated wrapping paper...rolled it out, cut out a tree shape and put it on their wall. It did look cute.

Thank you very much, Dodge.
I was really kind of teasing. My kids keep asking if I am OK because I am not doing all of the seasonal decor. I am good. I am very, very happy. But I did not want to stress over decorations that Ted won't care about, nor cleaning up after the season. So I didn't. I grow my own Christmas trees and could easily cut one and set it up. I am just in a giving mood instead of a decorating mood. And that is not a bad thing.
