Usually, mushy Jade leaves means that you have over-watered.
If that is the case, you may have rotted roots as well.

If the roots and trunk are still healthy, your Jade should eventually send up new branches at the nodes where the leaves were.
Never water Jade plants until the soil is almost dry.

i think it was in shock because i moved it from somewhere that was hot to in the house with a/c..anyways i just wanted to make sure the leaves would grow back... the trunk is still pretty healthy..when i cut the leave off it was green inside the branches.. i don't think it has root rot.

many thanks :)

I like jades to, in someone else's home. every time I try them they either rot, or get mealy bugs or have other problems. I admire those who can grow them

Alex it sounds like you loved yours to death. I used to do that too. I love having a routine and with jade I had to follow their routine rather than mine. I learned a lot.

So what do you do? I know I would need ardifical light for jades also can they take winter temps 70 to 71 degrees and regular summer temps outside. I like the fancy types with yellow or red leaves, do these ones need more light. what lighting system would you subjest.

What you need to do is find a place for it and leave it there. They absolutely do not like to be moved around. Second of all it may need little or no water during the winter depending on how humid your air is. If the leaves start to look wrinkly then water. Fertilize during the growing season regularly. Watch out because red leaves can mean it's getting a sunburn. Know what shape you want it to have and work at it during the growing season. If your like me your obsessive/compulsive. So what I did was look at my jade everyday but not necessaily do anything to it. Plants like to be repotted from time to time. This usually means every three years.

That worked for me.
