I just bought a live Norfolk Island Tree. It was the only one in the store, looked perky enough, but then I read that they are sometimes spray painted, which can kill them. Does anyone know what I do to tell if mine is painted, and if it is, how to remove the paint without over stressing the plant?? I lost my 22 year old cactus this summer.. I bought this for long term, not to discard a week after Christmas..

They spray them with glitter here not paint. My Aunt had one, after Christmas she put it in the bathtub, laying down with a garbage bag tied around the pot and gave it a good spraying with a hand held shower hose. Took the glitter right off.
