Good morning.
Thanks for opening this, Junie. Hope you are feeling better.

I got "cat attacked" again last night. Every time I'd push her off the bed with my feet she would come right back and start attacking my feet/legs again. Tonight she will be locked in the bathroom. When I finally got her to stop I went back to sleep and had terrible nightmares about Malcolm. So glad I finally heard the school bus and woke up.

Good morning. I am sorry about cats and nightmares, Cindy. I hope you get rest today.
I am ready for another school day. I have to make the calls that I forgot to make yesterday and to cook the chicken thighs that I put off cooking.
I wonder if anyone ever really named a child with a middle name of Procrastinate?

Good morning--you ladies are so funny--
Cindy, I am so sorry for your troubles with the Kitty & your nightmares. Do you have bad dreams of him often ? I would hope not.

Feeling a bit better. Something in the tire & as I dont wish to risk sitting on the side of the road, I will not be going to the Drs today.

Keep warm & dry everyone...

I have bad dreams of him very often....so does Rachel. She screams in her sleep and Jeremy wakes her up. It's something we will have to live with for the rest of our lives. tears

Well...if you are feeling a little better and something is wrong with your tire I would do the same as you....stay home. I don't drive on a bad tire. Even on a good day I don't want to be stranded at the side of the road.

sorry to hear that about the dreams, Cindy. I guess you both are thankful to wake up after them.

Thanks about the bad tire comment. My oldest DD is upset with me, said did I want her to come & take me to the drs--I said no but thanks for offering. (she is teaching school)

I have a weird "tire phobia". Even when I get all new tires put on I will get on the interstate and be scared to death that "maybe they didn't tighten the lug nuts good enough and a tire is going to fly off!"

I don't need anyone or anything else to make me a miserable freaking wreck...I can do it all by myself...in my head... lol

No driving on bad tires. It is not worth it to risk your safety or your life. Especially as you are feeling better.
I got Ted to school and stopped at the store. I needed beer to pay my older son for his labors. I came home and put that away and made one of the 2 phone calls I need to make. I will make the second after the mail arrives if my check is not in there. The dozen chicken thighs are seasoned, breaded and oven frying themselves now.
I have been stockpiling food and other emergency stuff for short term preparation for an earthquake or something like. I can live for several months on what I have set aside. That is good feeling. I have lived on my stored items after a fire wiped out our water and electrical stuff for 3 and more weeks in '03. And fed neighbors too. I lived for about 3 months after a personal financial collapse in the 80's and managed to feed my kids well.
It feels good to be prepared. But I am in sorry shape if there is a more major, world shattering disaster in the future. I am getting my ideas of things to store from different prepper sites and they are big time into living through a major apocalyptic event. I just want to get ideas of things I don't have on hand and learn how to do new things. Some of those sites are scary.

well, I have some MRE's in the basement and enough water for a few weeks. Then there are a few first aide boxes as well.

I imagine I have enough canned goods to get us by for while also.-- I guess I need to put some asprin down there for me to use as emergency medicine if I should run out of my prescriptions---Heaven forbid I should be allowed to buy extra of them.

You'd think after almost 20 years this would go away but it's getting worse.
Rachel said on the phone awhile ago "We won....please think of that!" But I swear, I think Malcolm is never going to die.

Well, die he did, and Rachel is SOOO right. you and she did win, & every time you look at her, you should be reminded of this fact. She is a beautiful young woman who has a fantastic Mom.

Thanks, Junie and Tina. I was watching the news earlier and they had a segment on about "Holiday Blues"....and how something traumatic with the holidays triggers something. I guess because right before "it" started happenning was the week after Thanksgiving, and me and Rachel walked around the farm and found the perfect Christmas tree. We cut it down and drug it home, had it set up and started to put the lights on it and Malcolm came home.....and told us if we put any decorations on it he would burn it. So, we didn't decorate it. It sat there undecorated til Christmas morning...when me and Rachel opened our presents to each other (Malcolm said not to get him anything for Christmas or he would burn the house down). Well...when we were unwrapping our presents we threw the ribbons onto the Christmas tree...and Malcolm set the tree on fire. It was all we could do to get it outside before it burned the house down.

Sorry I said all this.....Christmas is not a good time for me anymore.
That's why I have never had a Christmas tree since 1993.....and never will again.

I know. I shouldn't have said all this.

But, for some reason I can't even take a nap now without having a nightmare about Malcolm. I wish he would leave me alone. So weird that the day (March 17th)they told Rachel and Bill I would not live through the day was the exact day day when Malcolm 'died'. He will never leave me alone.....

Cindy ,

I know a couple things that have helped me.... when I get ready to go to sleep I say a prayer asking for the bad dreams to be kept away.... and I remind myself I won ... as you did.. you and Rachel are still here and he isn't... I would decorate a tree in defiance and to remind myself I am still here and going on with my life..... just a thought and my own opinion... I know how hard it is to get over this stuff and has taken me years... but it's my way of showing I survived it all and I am still here and doing as well as I can....

take this with a grain of salt but may be worth a try ...... we all love you and want the best for you...

Nana, I actually almost bought a little pine tree at the grocery store the other day...even had it in my cart. But, I am so afraid of Malcolm that I put it back.

I should go buy it tomorrow.....and stand up to him once and for all.

yes ma'am you should--and perhaps next year you can get one a bit bigger, and on and on--
and yes remember you are loved here by many--and there is always your family, esp rachel, jeremy, & brennan.
with us all here for you, you can win this battle. malcom can only continue to hurt you if you let him. Just make sure to take good care of your tree, water, humidity, etc.

And before you bring that tree into your house, do think about your pets. Maybe a small outdoor tree? I have visions of very happy kitties tearing it up all over your house.

I have a bad feeling about that, too. Les brought me a fern and the cats were so obsessed with it I had to throw it in the trash today....I think it was beyond repair anyway...had been frosted on.
I might just put lights on the philodendron......maybe.

I think that could be pretty Cindy==perhaps some red bows with the small lights?? They have really small strings anymore--it would make a philodendron look festive, I am sure !!!

g'nite everyone sweet dreams

well last night was one for the books---
I went ot bed at 10:30---woke up at midnight (had been in bed coughing the whole time in-between. Then went back to bed 30 minutes later only to wake up again at 2:30 coughing once again. been up pretty much since--if I am sitting up, I do not cough '"as much" but lying down I do nothing but cough.

Good news is my temp. is subnormal--it always does that on the last day of whatever sickness I have. Momma will be so happy to hear this.

So sorry to hear about the nightmares Cindy kissie

I do agree though, go buy a tree and decorate it to the point where you have a hard time to see the branches. Then go to bed knowing you have control now.

Feeling a bit cr@ppy still, the past few days my body seems to be trying to fight something. Being nauseated does me in...

Juniegirl, take a spoonful of honey..tasted bad but usualy works to calm a cough.

Now there is a plan I had not thought of---and oh, put the cats in the bathroom.

Thanks for the idea, hopefully that will get me to my Drs appointment on friday--I hope to get a list from him of acceptable "safe" OTC meds.

Back to mention how now that I feel like I could go back to sleep, I need to get up & get cleaned up to begin my day. Nap time "will" come, I promise !!

Good Morning all,

Cindy I hope you come up with an idea that everyone can live with. I'll keep you and all our sick members in my prayers.

Today I am taking a break from organizing the house. Friends are coming over at 11:00a.m. to help with the christmas decorating. I'm running out of ideas and the few ideas I do have I don't know how to pull off. You know me always trouble with the decorating lol. I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Morning,
I should be getting ready for the kids to be here- have Timothy and Derek and Senika today then Nicoli after school.. Timba got sick last so he is last to get better... he had a migrain last night so he will be tired today... good news is Derek had his first homeschool yesterday and did really well.. he likes the teacher and she got him to do over 8 pages of work , he worked the whole 2 1/2 hours with no prob... sometime today I may have to go get Joseph at work... will be so glad when he finally gets his own car...LOL!

Cindy one year when I was broke we (the kids and I ) drew a picture of a tree and hung in on the wall and made deco out of whatever we could find ... came out really nice ... would maybe be less temptation for the cats... and maybe keep you busy for a while too.... you are artistic so should be easy for you to do..... if not the tiny tree to set up... even a little on is a victory for you and let you take your power back.... would even help with nightmares I think... something to think about ..... we are all on your side! you have a mini army to help you here..

Sunflower sure hope you feel better... does ginger tea help you at all? I love the stuff when my tummy is on strike...LOL!
Well off to get ready for my invasion.......... have a good morning all!

Long day....left for Lexington at 8am...an all day affair.
Have to go back Friday to a different doctor....thinking about re-scheduling that appointment (again).

I had the cat's fish thawed out and ready for this morning before I left...then forgot to give it to them. touched They were a little PO'd at me when I got back. Not like they starved....I had 3 bowls of different dry cat food out for them (always) and had given them a can of food. They survived!

Good morning. No comment on your affairs, Cindy.
I am up and ready to brave the weather to get my kid to school. I think. It will depend on what the actual weather is like at the time to leave.
There are flood control ditches I need to drive through to leave my area and they 'fixed' them a few years ago. Now, instead of the small trickling stream across the road it can be a huge roaring river with boulders rolling by. It can be fun to decide whether to cross or not. And then, on the other side, some people do not know how to drive in the rain.
I will know in a couple hours if I am going or not.

ginger tea is such a good idea. I used to be able to get some that was ginger vanilla, yummy as well as good at settling my tummy.

I prefer the affairs with the doctor, way less drama even when I got the cancer diagnosis years ago.

Pulling this back up to say good night to all. I really did nothing today. It felt pretty good. But I am fizzling out anyway as though I labored half the day.
Sweet dreams all.
