sleep well everyone !!!

I hope your full day today means you are driving down here to make me some chicken 'n dumplin's and cleaning my house! bop

Sorry about your toothache, Sunny...I have never had a toothache but I hear it's very painful.

Well...uncovered Lola's cage this morning and, believe it or not, she let me twist and pull that band off her leg (it was tight) and now it's back down on her ankle. Last night she ate me up when I tried...getting bitten by a mad parrot is not fun, and there is a lot of blood involved. (Bill knows this all too well...) I still want that thing OFF her...will have to find a vet somewhere to do it, but at least it's not a major emergency today, thank God.

We only have 3 vets around here...and the reason they don't work on parrots is because parrots can just drop dead from being stressed, and my vet said he didn't want to be responsible for a $2,000 pet to die on him for no real reason. So, I have had to drive all the way to Louisville many times when Lola was younger to see an avain vet.

Supposed to go to Lexington today for a dr appointment, but I don't feel like it so I am cancelling. My phlebotomy is more important...now I can get that done today.

Good morning.
I am sorry about toothaches as well. They can dominate your life sometimes.
Carol, you are a very good mommy.
Cindy, they did go through John's hip bone each time. That is one of the biggest pockets of marrow to acquire. He really did not experience discomfort. When his disease, MDS, worsened a few months later, they attempted again and could not reach any marrow to test. It had calcified or something in there.
It has been a long, busy week. I am glad for Friday.

Couldn't get a dentist app until Tuesday...I swear breaking limbs was less painful.

Hope you got your bloodwork today Cindy.

Tina, I must look more into the procedure they told DH it was done through your spine...hip sounds better.

I am sorry, Sunny. I hope it eases up over the weekend. And if they are going in through the spine, they may be doing more than one test? Like checking spinal fluids? I don't have a clue, really. But the spine seems to be full of wimpy bones to find much marrow? Ask questions, please.
I took a heavy duty nap today. I hope it didn't throw me too far off track on my sleep schedule.

Yes, ask questions! I thought they always took bone marrow biopsies in the hip. why
Ask them what they are testing for!

PS...my phlebotomy didn't go well today...again. In the last 8 days I have been stuck 15 times, and I look like a junkie. It's embarrassing for me to go in public without a long sleeve shirt on at this point.

Yes, my arms are nicked up and punctured just from gardening. I look like tweakers I have seen on TV cop shows. I do not heal as quickly as I used to any more. I wear long sleeves a lot.
Have you considered a picc line, Cindy?

Oh, [BLEEP].....I have been discussing my funeral plans with Rachel for the last hour....something she has not wanted to talk about every time I have mentioned it, but she finally asked me to tell her what I wanted. Not to say I plan on dying anytime soon, but I have wanted her to know what I wanted when the time comes. I have enough life insurance for a major party, but I want a simple casket made out of wood, without all that satin bullshit inside. Just a pillow for me and Lola. I'm sure she is crying right now (as I am) but at least she has finally heard what I want.

A picc line is a great idea..

Cindy, it is good to pre-arrange but just hard to hear from loved ones kissie Here we only have one funeral place..and he has a website that you go, type in all your plans, he calls you to confirm them then it is put away for when the time comes. That way..your plans get followed without having to discuss it with anyone thumbup

What a windy day..yikes, we will be without power at some point today.

This will be the first week end without grandbaby in over a year..remind me what people are supposed to do on weekends?? haha

My mother has her funeral pre-arranged & paid for. Now if the fineral Director just does not go out of business. I myself have written down my wishes & put it in the file. Then I have told valarie where the note was. We have enough set aside in a CD to bury us both.--Now to jsut leave it there...

Sunny, I hope that Tuesday comes quickly for you. About what one does w/o grandchildren around---I guess the answer is "whatever you want" shewinks But in your case I think the answer i s rest & do just what HAS to be done. kissie

Sorry about the wind, but hey at least it is not a storm.

Today is supposed to be very nice. So, I plan on doing the last of my yard work before the "real" winter hits. Well, if I do n ot take my mom out to lunch. Today would have been her & daddy's anniversary.

Good morning. I only know how much picc lines can help from John's experiences. As he had to deal more and more often with blood draws and transfusions, he began dreading the needles. The picc line really aided him there. It became painless. The biggest drawback was keeping it dry for showers and things.
A preplanned funeral is a good thing for families left to deal with it. It was a Godsend that John's was planned and paid for. Mine is also paid and planned and so is Teddy's.
Today will be some shoe shopping for my son. He is outgrowing his. So it is a good time to do that.

I need to do shoe shopping, because I have a funeral to go to...but I can't stand shopping. Leslie has a bazilllion shoes, so I will have her bring a pair to me at the funeral home and change out of my Converse high-tops before I go inside.

Here is the casket I picked out! Actually, Rachel found it for me.
I love it! luv

Keep safe, Cindy. Most of the country does not build for earthquakes. Even California could be better at it but we are learning. And here, quake insurance coverage is separate from regular homeowners stuff.
You are having the quakes and I am busy prepping for a major one. Or something. I am putting together the bug out bags (bob) that my kids want for Christmas. It is a lot of fun. Not cheap, but fun. And something I believe in.

Remember a Veteran in your life today. And thank another one.
Happy birthday to Tre'.
Good morning. I slept well in spite of the low temps. It fell into the 30's here last night. I have still not lit a fire yet. But I will bake something this morning to chase some chill away. It is 42* in my den here this morning.
I would not be doing bug out bags for Christmas if my youngest daughter had not requested one. And I am making one for her boyfriend and my older son who showed interest as well.
It is a decent backpack filled with emergency supplies to last for at least 3 days. I am leaving room in these for them to add a change of clothing and shoes (I hope).
These are meant to grab and run out of the house in case of emergencies and I'm thinking earthquakes around here, mostly. I have things in my van for both my young son and I, put there just in case ...

Good morning.

Happy Veteran's/Remembrance Day.

Happy Birthday Tre kissie

Hope you don't get many after shocks Cindy..that's one thing we don't get often here. We had one this year..first one in years.

Freezing cold here, but the snow forecast for Tuesday had changed to rain..apparently a warm front is headed in. Thanks Cindy and Carol thumbup nice of you to share.

Tina, those bags are a great idea.

I look forward to seeing those Tina,,,

This house is smelling like a mexican restaurant,, lol Tre' asked for tostadas for his birthday, I made mex. rice, guacamole', all the toppings, refried beans,, and fried corn tortillas.. He wants to eat his cake first,, said he wanted to make sure he had room for it since he plans on "tearing up the tostada. notme ."

G'morning. Holiday here as well. Actually I should say that people have off today for the holiday that was yesterday. Which worked out well, as both my DD's would have h ad to be on icy roads this morning to get to work. Since their schools were clsoed they got to stay home. Which made me especially happy since my youngest would have had my grandson with her on said roads.

Sunny, I hiope you and your DH get a lot of your chores done.

I am off to do book work for my MIL today---

There will be icy roads here later. It was 64 when I got up this morning, will be 26 tonight. It's raining now but will turn to snow. I cancelled my headshrinker appointment soon as I got up this morning...too sick to go, and glad I don't have to drive in this rain. I'm just gonna hole up here in the house and get nothing done.

Morning ,
I am waiting for Senika to get here and then Derek... will give them pancakes for breakfast- they are done....

It's cold here today and it snowed over the weekend but it's mostly melted now on the roads... so it will be easy to go pick up the boys after school..

We will be having a home school teacher for Derek after the Thanksgiving holiday next week.. she will come twice a week so hopefully this will work for him...and Carrie is working with her EAP plan at work to get him into a counseling program close by us... they will pay for some of it so that is very good news... it's to teach him coping skills to get him back to school eventually.
Well off to get ready for the baby to be here... and watching endless Barney,Wiggles and Sesame ST... LOL!

Have a good day all!
Nana

Good morning. Holiday and sleeping in are very good here. It is also cold here. Our ski resorts opened. There will be more oven time today for the warming it does in here.
I am glad the support for Derek is happening, Nana. And that you are able to help is awesome.
