could it be the cylinder one with the yellow cap... A Lithium Ion battery? If it's dead you'd probably have to replace the whole detector. ?????

I needed it for a small electronic scale to weigh silver on. I found a bunch of silver (spoons, forks, etc) while I was unpacking a box a few weeks ago.

Way to go, Barb! When you get near the batteries, get some spares for the next time you need some.
Doesn't it feel good to do things on your own sometimes? It reminds us how powerful we really are.

Johnny said he heard on the today show that smoke alarms and CO2 alarms really don't give us enough time to get out of the house in the event of a fire or CO2 problem. He said whoever said by the time the alarm goes off it's too late. I didn't hear it myself so I'm not sure who was doing the talking and if they had statistics to prove it.

Whatever, even a few seconds can make a difference. And by law they have to be there, at least in Ca.

I think it's a law in NC too. Everyone I know has smoke alarms not CO2 alarms. Tina would be nice if you had sprinkles attached to your alarms.

No sprinklers, please. The fires I worry about are outdoors coming at me at 75-100 mph. Interior sprinklers wouldn't do much to help. I do water outdoors all day and night all year long somewhere. I had the carbon monoxide detectors long before they became law because I heat with wood. Doing what I can to keep my babies safe, even though they are all adult now.
