Hello,

I went out of town for a while and ended up being gone much longer than I had planned.

Basically, I didn't water my house plants for 4 weeks. Two of them is fine but the biggest one seems to be suffering, if not dying.

I don't know what type of plant it is. Here are the leaves (unfortunatly there are to longer any on the tree):

The Stem

And the top of the stem (which is looking very dead and i thought about chopping it but since I don't know what kind of plant it is I don't know if that will kill it or not):

Can I save him????

Welcome, Mistress. I am not sure why your pictures did not show up either. But you can tell if a plant, or part of it, is totally lost if you can break off a branch and it snaps. Dry all the way through means it is dead. At least that branch. But you can continue to water it and see if it will recover at all.
I thought I had lost a potted kumquat tree this summer due to neglect. But it has recovered and is even fruiting again already.
Good luck.

The pictures wouldn't show because the link is to an entire page, so I edited it and now you can just click the links to see the pictures.

Very cool! I can see them now. I believe from the leaves and the trunk that I can see that you have a schefflera. The good news is that I don't think it is a lost cause. I do think with regular watering, you should see some new leaves popping up on this. It will take a while to get back to its original glory. But I think it will survive.

The black part at the top of the stem is dead. Just cut off the dead part, back t o where the stem is green, and it should send out new shoots in time.
