I have tasted dishwater and prefer not to again.
I got my kid to school, stopped to shop and bank and noticed a concert setting up at the local amphitheater when I was coming home. Got online and checked. Yep, Toby Keith is playing tonight. I miss the marquee down there that let us know when events were coming up. The traffic in and out of my house is most often completely blocked during events.
I have another stop before I pick Ted up from school and then we can hunker down. Supposed to push 110* today again. But dropping about 10 degrees over the weekend.

Was only in the 80's here today, but I stayed in the chair all day. rolz

"Styx" is performing tonight at a festival in the next town...wish I felt like going. Have seen them several times and they are always good...and all the original band members still. But, I would have to get someone to drive me, and take a wheelchair and fight a huge crowd...so I'll just listen to them on YouTube instead.

Yay, it just hit a nice low of 90* I could finally get up and wash my dishes. I really cannot move when it is hot. My coolers effectively keep me alive. But not up and dancing. It is supposed to drop 10 degrees over the weekend (maybe).

High today of 81*F but most of the day it was in the mid to high 70's. It was wonderful---

The last few days and I have not been able to keep nectar in the feeders for the Hummers---and I have had so many of them that I cannnot count them all---when there was a lull in the feeding I did manage to count 7..and this was only at 1 feeder...
they drank 3 full feeders (1 qt size) worth today. shock

Those birdies are stocking up for a hard winter, maybe? Or just the long flight south.
I don't put out feeders. But I have plenty of natural foods growing for them year round.
Sweet dreams all. It may be cool enough to sleep.

All I have to say is......please take some of my rain, this is ridiculous. egad

Send it on down, Sunny.
I may actually get some t-storms in the next few days. And it is setting up to be an El Nino year and I may be wishing rain away by next spring.
The weather is often feast or famine.
It is cooler today. It will still be topping 100* but I can already feel the difference.
I have no big plans for my day. A little house cleaning and taking my stove top apart for some cleaning sounds good for now. We will see.

So sorry to hear that, Diane.
Too much death lately.... tears

I wish I had the energy this kitten has....she hasn't slowed down for the last 4 hours except to eat...then goes right back at it. She's knocked the lamp over, erased all my messages on my answering machine, climbed to the ceiling via the curtains and a quilt I have on the wall...but she sure is keeping Spartacus entertained.

Just filled the hummingbird feeders up AGAIN....like Junie, I have never seen so many before. Thank God sugar is cheap..lol thumbup

Good morning. Thanks for reminding me, I need to make fresh nectar. Sorry to hear about your uncle, Diane. Cindy's right, so much death lately. Today I have to go to the pharmacy and pick up my meds. I have to get laundry done today as well but that's about it for me. I'm sure I'll go for a run as well. Probably after the pharmacy then I'll relax and work on laundry the rest of the day.

Clean a shelf or two of videos or toys (damp dust with Clorox wipes), sit and rest. Clean another shelf and dust and replace books. Sit and rest. Eight shelves done. It is a never ending job. And Teddy wants to come and rearrange the things.

I haven't even opened the door to see what the 'outside' feels like yet.

Had a hard time sleeping last night...just when I was finally asleep (about 7am) 'the kitten' decided to jump up and down on top of me. "Boing, boing, boing"...like she was on a freaking trampoline. rolz
I go to the kitchen to make a pot of coffee and there are tomatoes and green peppers all over the floor...and here comes Spartacus running into the kitchen with a big green pepper in his mouth.

I guess I wouldn't have much of a life without these cats... cat lol

Those cats sure keep your life interesting, Cindy. You make me glad I only have to clean up after Teddy.
He is busy undoing my labors of yesterday. He has a certain arrangement of his books that he likes in the living room (a room we do no use much) which includes the floor. He usually lines them up but sometimes they are artfully piled. I got in and dusted the shelves yesterday and put all the books and toys up and vacuumed. He is in there decorating again, his way. And I truly do not mind. The room under his decor is basically clean.
Today I will finish going through the text books and deciding what stays and what goes and cleaning those shelves. I am raising all kinds of ruckus with my house cleaning. But it is embarrassing how long it has been. I have made a promise to myself to maintain it again. And that will work as long as I have my older son around to help with the outdoor acre.

A locking lid. A locker maybe. Metal with shelves for defrosting fish and allowing fruit and vegetables to ripen naturally. And a key, Cindy can wear around her neck on a strong chain.
I would like to see the progress on your blanket, Carol.
I tried to nap but it didn't take. So I got up and folded my laundry and did a bit more dusting. That is a never-ending job too. I really only have 2 more rooms to really deep clean. And I have worked on bits of both of those already. But I keep needing to spend energy going over the complete rooms too.

Hi everyone..been busy with family visiting from afar.

Sorry for your loss Diane kissie

It is still raining, truly believe the feast or famine as Tina stated. BTW: Glad you have your oldest son there to help you...take it easy and don't play yourself out though.

The blanket is just beautiful, I hope your daughter appreciates all the hard work Carol.

Cindy..hoping your 'animal zoo' calms down soon lol

Catching up on house chores today..had grandbaby here since Wednesday, took her home yesterday....now my house is too quiet.

Just took apart my vacuum cleaner..the impeller has some breakage in the fins. I swear if I ever find one that can last at least 2 years I'll be amazed. rolz

Just needed to rant while I wait on lunch to be ready lol

I agree 100%, Sunny. They do not build them to last. They do not build them to really clean either. In wood burning season, I actually vacuum twice. I go over first with my shop vac in case there is impeller-breaking crud around then use my vacuum to get the finer dust in the broad areas. It is tiring but this vacuum has lasted me about 5 years. It also is bagless and has all washable parts, filters and such. A godsend. I am not good to vacuums in general.

Thank you ladies for your kind words on teh quilt---I hope it is appreciated as well..I will take pictures when I have it all done & have teh back fleece added on.

Do NOT get me started on vacuumes---I have 2---One should work to beat the band--BUT it has something wrong & my husband insists it works ok--well it does not---(his mom gave us this one when she moved to the assisited living & it is a really expensive one so he thinks we are set forever--well she must have messed something up because they are supposed to be good, but to mu notion when one is done vacuuming it does not look like anything was cleaned at all. My other one is a canister model and while it works better than teh "broken one" it could work a lot better---I want a bagless like Tina has--Plus I want a pet model--they really have good suction so one can pick up dog hair---I figure animals or not, it would be a smart purchase---but they are outrageous i n price, so that will not be happening. If I could afford one of those we would be getting hardwood floors (or the fake type) & I could get by with the old vacuums for the bedrooms-- lol

Tina, I have 2 shop vacs in the basement--I think I will make DH bring one up & I will use it on the house--thanks for the idea---

Cindy, good luck at the SSI office today--glad you are taking a book. Wise move..

My mom bought a Kirby vacuum with all the bells and gizmos on it more than 50 years ago. But she had cheaper vacuums she used most of the time in order not to break her good one. So in the 70's I was using my MIL's Kirby purchased around the same time. It worked but when I used my mother's there was a big difference in the suction power. My mother's had been used much less over the years and really worked well.
I inherited my mother's and it worked fine until it got a Leggo or something that broke an impeller. I sent it to be repaired and it came back with a new impeller, but I swear they switched out motors too. Because the one I got back barely sucked. It is packed away for now.
Carol, my shop vac is not good for whole room cleaning. It is good to get up the larger chunks and pine needles we walk in. Great on the edges, too. But I need to use my upright to get in the middle of the floors mostly. So it is much like vacuuming twice. Well it is twice, really. And not often enough.

I just buy those cheap $80 ones at Walmart that you empty the canister. I am yet to find one though that I can get two years out of though. Plastic parts are the worse thing ever, sad part is that even the expensive models have plastic parts inside also.

I have no idea what could have broke the impeller, I only use it on the rugs and furniture...and I never emptied any toys or such out of the canister. Mind you the thing runs twice a day, every day and more in Winter.

Someone should use me as a product tester grin

Well, got more wood piled in the shed...now to wait for a dry spell to get the rest dried out to be able to be moved in. Throwing it in then piling it after wasn't the brightest idea I ever had. Lesson learned.

I am falling behind on outdoor chores once again..the weather is not cooperating at all.

Someone should use you as a product tester, Sunny. Put an odometer on your machine to see how many miles it runs. Everything is plastic these days.

Dinner is just about done here. First time I've cooked in days. But my BBQ beef and my chicken salad are gone. So I had to do something. So my own version of cheese tortellini w/chicken is simmering away. Cold green salad on the side.

You all don't even want me to get started on vacuum cleaners...they are EVIL machines! devil

Bad news at Social Security. I am losing my insurance....so without the blood stuff I have to have done all the time I will be dead in about 4-6 months. I can't pay thousands of dollars for a visit to the hematologist. The new treatments involve running my blood through a "cleaner" to remove the iron...that has to coast a fortune. I am screwed. I have cried all day.

Maybe this is why all the dreams about dying. why
