Hello !! I just joined !

Looks like a nice site !!

My mission is a question actually, I am trying to grow some maiden grass and I have some seeds I just got from a plant in my area.

My question is: Do the seeds I just collected need to be cold stratified in order to germinate ? Or can I just plant them right away ?

Any help would be great !!

THanks Everyone !!

Hi John! Welcome to our forum.
Germination will be more reliable if the seeds are stratified @24°-39° for 2-4 weeks before sowing, but stratification is not absolutely required.
Maiden Grass (Miscanthus) seeds require light for germination, so do not cover them!
Keep moist and maintain a temperature of 68°-70° until germination, which takes 2-4 weeks.
