We got unforcasted hail coming out of no where. I lost a pepper plant, the top of it is gone with broken leaves on the soil. I was going to throw it out but notice some tiny sucker leaves coming from the side? Can this plant still produce pepper fruit with the top gone or is it toast?

It could branch out and still produce. Watch it and baby it along.

Thanks, guess there is no harm in keeping it. For now it could serve as an ornamental plant if it should branch out to the side. Lol, I will keep it to teach me so I can see if it does bear any fruit.

Just want to report that it did branch out and has a baby pepper on the way. Don't throw out those broken pepper plants.
