Rained last night..guess we really couldn't go 48 hours after all lol

Today is a housework kind of day...too wet out there for anything else.

I need rain. I am watering some part of my yard 24/7.
Good morning. This morning it is a trip to Home Depot and a grocery store before the heat strikes. I am glad the Depot opens at 6:30. I can be home before the heat settles in for the day. Then more indoor work under the breeze of my coolers.

Today is the first day it hasn't rained here in weeks...but after all that heat and dry weather we had for such a long time I am not complaining at all about the rain.

This year is shaping up to be an El Nino year. I could end up complaining about too much rain too.
I live in a desert. But we have imported so much water and planted so many lawns and other non-native things that we have actually changed the climate here. We have so many more humid summer days than we did when I was a child. I am not just relying on memory. It has been chronicled. I am not sure if this is a bad thing. But I sure don't like humidity. So it feels pretty bad to me.

well Bill, I hate to say it but I think you have to tell them to take your name & number off of their list before they will stop---& sometimes even that just puts them off for awhile.

it is 8:51 pm here it is almost completely dark out & it is still 100. This weather is crazy---
Tonight I put approximately 135 gallons of water on my trees--in an effort to keep them alive--then I watered all the potted plants as well---. last night I but 60 gallons of water on 2 other trees & then watered the garden, flower beds and the potted plants. (potted plants get watered every night in this heat)
I think I may have to stop eating come next month when the water bill comes---and sadly I am not joking.

off to jump in the tub & then embroider again---

That never works... I tried (even after I told the blood bank that they don't want my blood) and I have been on the national "no call" list since day 1.

Well Tina back when I first found out that I coukld not lift more than 20 pounds that sorta put a damper on me carrying 5 gallon buckets of water to all the new trees here---so I got a 5 gallon bucket & I filled it with the hose using the spray (shower) that I use to water. It took 1 minute to fill the 5 gallon bucket---well this yeart my nizzel is wearing out so when I timed it this year it was more like 1 min 10-15 sec.

so I have 3 trees & 4 bushes in the back to water--
2 rose of Sharon bushes--2 red bud trees--a sandcherry bush--a ash tree of some sort--& an Oak

the first ROS got 5 minutes, and so on, until I got to the oak which has a pretty good root system already & it was looking good, so it only got 2 minutes (10 gallons, give or take). so when I added up the time I had on each tree/bush it came up to that. I figure the moset I can be off is say 10 gallons between the 7 waterings

last night I filled buckets & dumped them--so that is how I know that...

I get calls constantly...only have a cell phone. They are for the last person who had my number, and even when I tell them that person does not have this number anymore they say they will remove my number, but then they call right back the next day. You can't stop it but cussing them out makes you feel a little better... lol

When I hit the 'ignore' button they call right back, so I usually answer it the second time and tell them to go [bleep] themselves and hang up. I am usually in a bad mood when my phone rings.... blush

at some point I hit the wrong key & now my font is "WAY BIG"

my e-mail seems to be ok as does the MSN homepage---BUT facebook, e-bay & here (only 3 places I checked) are ginormous--can someone tell me how to put it back to how it was??????

Spartacus could tell me how he changes my font size if only I could understand cat meow language...he changes it back and forth constantly...but I don't know how to change it unless you have Google Chrome as your browser.....

Good morning...whoever had my rain sent it back. I am not going to complain though because it is cooler today..mind you it is 'squalling' out there with heavy winds.

I used to be a telemarketer notme in fact I used to call Washington neenee It was only for 4 months (my mom lost her job and had no money coming in and it was either me do that for her or move her in)...come to think of it, at the time being a telemarketer wasn't such a bad idea grin Although I was so happy when she found work two weeks before my contract was finished.

So sorry if I called you Bill from 'Trendwest headquarters' haha

Not much planned for today..besides scraping paint of that dresser. Nice weather out there if you were a duck.

Good morning. I'm not even close to being a duck. But I would like to take some of that rain off your hands, Sunny.
I am taking apart my larger linen closet today and washing/refreshing some of the rarely used items. My 25 year old washer and dryer are getting a work out. I am throwing out some of the older, sadder items from in that closet. I will put it all back together in a better more organized way.
I will end up with a pile of blankets and such to share with the needy this winter. And I will end up with more breathing space for myself.

It's great that you have a place to put the items...we have finally recieved a bin for donating things at the local food bank. It's so nice to be able to go at any time to drop off whatever a person would like. Sure keeps my house from being cluttered.

There are bins all over town here. But I prefer not to use them. I have seen too many broken into and scavenged. And I want to know where my donations are going. If unscrupulous people are making a profit on things, it bothers me.
I searched online for things to do with all of the sheets I was planning to throw out. I will be keeping some to toss over plants if we get a freeze warning and some for drop clothes for painting. These will not go back into the linen closet but into my tool shed.
I am thinking it may be a good time to nap, though.

I have pulled a MOUNTAIN of weeds (mostly Fireweed, Bracken Ferns and Alpine Blackberries) and I'm ready for a nap too. snooz
The only trouble is that the mountain is in the middle of the road and now I have to move it before I get to stop. uhuhh

THAT'LL teach you to begin your pile in an out of the way inconspicuous place "next time".

and if you do that your reward will be an earlier nap... thumbup

I laid me down but didn't sleep. But a stretch and rest is almost as good.
I guess sandwiches are dinner here. At least that is what my kids just fixed for themselves.

Great job, Bill.
My life was made much simpler by having my green waste hauled for me. Instead of doing it myself. But I have to haul it to the road around my house from the hillside.

Just came in from watering the back yard & the pots in the front--although the pots in the front got "gray water".

...Now I must get clean & cool. Then I will get back to my embroidering. I think I need to keep it going tonight until I finish my first animal, so I will know how long before I finish this blanket.
*remind me to start earlier on the next one, OK ? *
