A couple of small zinnia volunteers are crowing my peach miniature rose. Do I need to try and transplant them elsewhere. The peach rose is the only one that isn't blooming of my roses. And if so any advice on how to do it without killing them? For some reason when I dig up anything in the garden to move it, it dies.

Depends on the weather..moving them in heat might kill them but it depends on if you think they will choke out your rose bush. You might have to sacrifice one to save the other.

~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.

I talked to the rose guy at the rose society yesterday. He said that the roses don't like crowding so I got out there this morning and moved the zinnia. I hope they survive but I have others if they don't. Thanks for the info.

The zinnia died but the rose has put on a bud so I think it is thanking me for moving them out of the way.
