I mostly worked today and felt like it was one of those days when I was spinning in a circle! Lots of phone calls and email requests. Dropped my cell phone and broke it dead! We were talking about getting new ones, the ones we have are....4 years old! So spent some time on-line getting that done today, then DH's last day at work will be Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!! He was working this year till he had 1000 hours in, when they hit that number they get pension for the year and he will hit it come Wed, and Thursday is the end of this shift, so retirement here we come (not me just him) grin yikes adrink uhuhh lol

Sorry about the phone but congrats to your husband..Yay. Will you be retiring soon also?

Well the weather is nice, I have a list of chores to tackle...no time to play this week sadly.

There was another tornado in Quebec this week and a snow storm in Manitoba...our weather is so messed up this past few years. Ontario got hit by late frosts and lost most of their apple crop(the flowers have dropped)...which supplies all of Canada in the Winter. Warning to us to freeze and bottle what we need from our wild trees.

I'll have to keep working for a while to help pay for insurance for myself. I am not eligible for Medicare for another 6 years. I may not have to work that long, we'll just have to get a feel for the finances!

That is so sad about the apple crop, I feel sad for the farmers whose livelyhood depends on their crops and then nature comes in and wipes them out.

Hope you are feeling good today, Cindy

I'm off to town today for quilt guild and errands. We are having a party Friday night for my DH's retirement/birthday, which is today so I need to pick up some supplies. An easy party, just hot dogs and hambergers and fixins!

Have a great Tuesday flwr

Raining again here today. Surely we're out of our drought now.

Tina, let me know the next time you get crazy and wash your hair at night and I'll wash mine too. We'll stay up together all night.

BOBBIE, what did you do with the lupines?

Good morning. Retirement planning is a lot of work. And the work is not over after retirement. Stuff changes.
Today is my oil change. I always feel like I am giving myself a gift. I used to change my own oil and filters, etc. But my hands will no longer work properly and crawling under my van is not even a fun idea. I am grateful I can afford to get it done. New tires last week and new oil and fluids today. I may just take a trip in July to escape the desert heat. We will see.

Hi all,
Went to see our financial guy this morning... he says it would make more sense to wait another 3 yrs to retire for hubby so that is the plan- unless this new company just drives him to the brink , better less money and less stress.. than putting up with the stuff they seem to be doing... we will see- we could do it now but makes more sense for the long run to wait it out... someetimes being to young is a pain...LOl!

Carrie gave hubby a haircut after we got back... now he is going to clean the grill- so have to get a bag and put the racks in with some ammonia to soak for a while to get grease off- easies way I have found to clean them up...

It's pretty warm today- in the 80 and breezy.. the weather isn't helping the firegfighters at all.. they are keeping it away from homes now at least...feel so bad for the people that have lost their homes and animals.. guess the decided it started with lightening this time... not close to us but we get the smoke and haze from it- telling people with upper resp problems to stay in side if they can...

Well I am going to go get the vacuum out and get after all the dirt I can while I am child free... they seem to bring it in faster than I can get rid of it... LOL!
We are doing pasta salad and tunaburgers for dinner.. easy and good hot weather food...

The guys are going to start working on the fence on Thurs,we will go order the wood tomorrow for it.. may have to rent a uhaul to bring it here if the delivery fee is to much...
Well off to vacuum... who knows may even dust!

Sorry, Sheri, I think I answered your question on another forum!! Haven't planted them yet. It turned chilly and windy so I left them in their pots and put them in the greenhouse. Today would have been a great day, but I have been in town all day and just got home, haven't even completely unloaded the car yet!!! Came in and started ribs for dinnner, then changed into shorts, sat down to put my shoes back on and thought I might need a little break grin But gotta get the rest of the stuff out of the car and get to making my DH's birthday lemon pie. I have decided I am going to separate the lupines a little, they are really thick in the pot. Got my lupines, maybe next year I'll get some foxglove flwr

Nothing is as nice like new things Tina...even if it is for the car thumbup

Relaxing for a few than off to help a relative with something...when they don't tell you on the phone exactly what they need help with, it's not going to be a good or easy thing lol

Yes Nana had an entire day child free... was nice except we spent it talking about money and then cleaning wierd stuff like the bbq grill... that is a messy job... but has to be done...
we figured out how many pickets and 2x4's we need for the fence too... and finally remembered to add screws to the list.. hard to put up a fence without those!

We had our cooler on till tonit when it cooled off quite a bit and realized it was bringing in smoky air from the fires here... wind must have shifted cause it is really strong tonit..
Well it's bedtime- need to get up early to be ready for boys ... no more quiet for this Nana this week...LOL!

Good morning at last, everybody!

I have been having an impossible time getting on here to post. I could read everything but whenever I turned the I'm page, it would log me off again! If it happened again today, I was going to call Bill to let him know. But today everything seems fine!

Maxi is in his third day of finals. Then one more day and he'll be finished for the year. Another day of rain here but I can't complain because we've had so many great days right in a row.

I'm going to go read back on what all I've missed. Hope everyone has a great day!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.
