I won't be here long...I am exhausted.
I didn't go to the hospital and get my knee xrayed...it will have to heal by it's own bad self.
Had to have another "blood-letting" today before Rachel and Brennan got here...one and half more pints! It usually goes pretty smooth...except when this one certain girl has to do it. This is the 2nd time I've had her, and she can never get the vein for the IV, much less the huge needle they use for the phlebotomy. After finally giving up after getting 1/2 pint she got someone else to do it...smooth as butter after that.

I am sorry you got a poor phlebotomist, Cindy. I hope it helped you feel better. How is your knee doing tonight?

Good morning all, Cindy can you refuse to let her do it?

Rainy days here...and cold as well.

something has ahold of my computer---I think Norton is mad at me for turning off the automatic renewal option.

Ceramics today and then I have to go and renew my driver's license---What ever happened to getting to do that thru the mail???

Cindy, you should have made the Phlebotamist or someone there, look at your knee.

Good morning.
I hope your computer is an easy fix, Carol. I really like my AVG Free. I do not like Norton or McAfee. A lot of money for little protection.

darn, Cindy, things aren't going very smooth for you kissie not sure you should let the knee go untreated ...they can be bugers to heal. others may know, but why do you have to "let blood"? I give, but only when the blood bank comes around asking for my O neg.

I know you have to get back on a scheduel, Tina, when your son goes back to school....is that a good or bad thing for you? I've worked for myself for so long it would be hard for me to get used to setting an alarm!

Just keeping busy working and playing in the dirt,
Have a Good Tuesday flwr

Cindy, I hope there is someone else available next time you go. There are some phlebotomists that are great and some who are just terrible. If they miss twice, I ask for someone else, and if I know they are terrible, I ask for someone else. I hope you'll consider getting your knee looked at. You don't deserve to suffer. Take care - Lola and Spartacus need you!

It is all good. My son is easy at home and easy at school. My time for running is when he is at school because he tires easily with too much in and out of the van and shopping and things. His summer school is only 3 hours loong so i don't have as much time to do my running.
Cindy has a issue where her body makes too much blood. She needs to start raising leaches or something. I used to get called on for my A- blood too. I think they lost my number.

Excess iron is a nasty thing. John had excess iron from all his transfusions.
I will take some of your rain, Sunny.

Hi all,
I could use some of your rain too- it looks like I might get some but it did same yesterday and we just had a dust storm, got up and went to Carries this morning, first thing.. she had her 3 little ones, and her 3 nephews and her neice,, and the boy that lives next door to me spent the night too... 8 kids! I wnet over to help corral them and keep 2 sets of eyes on the babies... wasn't to bad.. then this afternoon I went and go Joseph at work and dropped him off at his girlfriends... got some fresh fruit while I was there too... boys eat it like it will go away if they don't...LOL!
It's warm outside today- 90's or so.. so cooler is on now... there are a couple more fires burning in the state today... seems we can't get a break... so very dry and the winds just keep them going and spreading..

Well off to get busy... makeing tuna burgers for dinner today... and a pasta salad too... just sounds good to me today..
Nana

Dang! That's what type my dad has, Tina....they use to call him all the time for blood.

Sounds like Sunflower's husband might have the same thing I have....Polycythemia. A bone marrow disease...body makes too much blood and you have to get a pint or two taken out every month. Would be nice if I could donate this blood, but they won't take it...because there's something wrong with it.

Rachel left today....she got a nail in her tire right before she got on the interstate...we had to get that fixed at the tire place. I always cry so bad when they leave....I know it makes her feel bad when I cry but I can't help it.

My knee is fine....if I can handle the pain and get around with crutches or a cane then I don't go to the hospital. I hate hospitals so much these days.......

I don't blame you for not liking hospitals, Cindy. You have been too familiar with them. Is your knee swollen?
I remember why I am not a candidate for blood donation any more. I am on an aspirin regimen. They are not fond of blood thinners for donations.
A- is a good academic grade. And on the rarer side of blood types.
Nana, I envy you your grandkids. But maybe not how busy it all keeps you. I am more sedentary these days.

Yes, my knee is swollen...and black and blue and purple...but the ice packs I've been keeping on it are helping.

Same here...I used to just pick Brennan up from school and keep him til Rachel got off work...and it wore me out...and I was healthy back then! I can't imagine doing all you do.

Well thanks for the kudos, don't think I do a whole lot for my kids and grands but does keep me busy, really don't know what I would do if I didn't do for them... clean house .. figure it will get done sooner or later .. LOL!
Watching the Queens Tribute Concert- it's fairly good,,, waiting for Sir Paul then heading to bed,,, I am kind of tired today... need to go to sleep before midnight these days when I have boys all day ,

Joe turned our tuna burgers into turkey and beef.. he didn't want the tuna so that will happen tomorrow I guess... had some 3 bean salad with it and was good... any night I don't cook it's good,,,

Cindy you can req the blood tech you want to do your IV,, I have bad veins and so does my youngest so I am very picky when I have to do it- if they can't get it the first time they go get someone who can,, I have come home from blood tests looking like I was in a terrible accident before I learned how to speak up.. they work for you for goodness sakes... I hope you knee feels better soon, take care and rest it as much as you can..
Well Paul is singing so better get myself ready to go up to bed.... nite all!
Nana

Good morning.

Cindy my DH has genetic Hemochromotosis...I have to take him this afternoon. Which means I may as well stop at the nursery and get my pepper plants at the same time grin

Yes I agree, I don't know how Nana does it..just one wears me out at times. Mind you she is as busy as 3. lol

Tina, those kids of your will make you a grandma all at once and you'll have too many babies to deal with all at the same time haha

Good morning, everyone! wavy

This is the first chance I've really had to be on since Monday, so I read back to catch up with awhenll of you again. Geez, what busy people!

Yesterday was so hectic, it felt nutz. And of course it rained and rained.

Today at least, the rain has sstopped for the morning so Maaxi had a nicer walk to the bus stop.

Carol Jean, I am DELIGTED to hear your news of your pending grandparenthood. How wonderful! Couldn't happen to a nicer lady!!

When I am in the doldrums and am not accomplishing much, I like to read Nana's posts and emails. She does enough for several women really, so I feel productive vicaiously. haha

Sunflowers getting pepper plants sounds great. A single green pepper was $1.49 at the grocery yesterday. They GOT to be kidding, right?!

Gotta go get ready for dialysis.

Soon I will post a pictire of Maxi for y'all. You guys haven't seen him in a while and you will not believe how CURLY his hair has gotten in the past year. Just like his dad's, it didn't curl til puberty. He has a beautiful mane now though. wait til you see.

See you all again soon. A great day to everyone!

Nana, you get the "Best Busy Grandma" award!! But in many ways I am jealous..my one grandchild lives in WV tears and he is not going to come out here this summer as he has a summer job....guess I'll have to make my plans to go back there this year!!

Merme, my brother lives in Maine...we hope to make a mototcycle trip back there one of these years. A few years ago we went to WV, but didn't have time to make it to Maine. Been there once about 4 years ago with the rest of my sisters and my dad, and yep my DB.

Nothing much new here, just working and playing in the dirt. Made homemade rolls and marinaded the chicken for company tonight for dinner, the rest of the dinner will be from my garden, red cabbage coleslaw, cooked cauliflower and green salad thumbup

Take care of that knee, Cindy, keep on keepin' on! :ding:

Have a great Tuesday flwr

Must be a lot of cats that like vegetables...Spartacus tries to steal lettuce and celery out of the refrigerator when I am getting something out of the vege drawer. He took off with half a head of lettuce one day...I think he played with it more than he ate it, though....I let him keep it for a few hours. And he "adopted" a zuchinni last summer and kept it for a week before I finally trashed it... cat

Yard work sounds fun after days of rain and cold, Sunny.
Good morning. I have another day of my son to school and then stopping to shop. Condensed summer school plays havoc with my regular routine.

Hi everybody! wavy

Busy day underway here. When Maxi left for school at 6:30 this morning, I got out my baking supplies. I was On A Mission to bake Blueberry Buckle!

I had bought blueberries at a good sale price and decided to make blueberry cobbler. But Maxi asked me to make the buckle instead because he doesn't care for cobbler. So I said ok, thinking I could divide it between Maxi and my friend Sam because I do not care for buckle. Then I realized I didn't have all the ingredients so it was another trip to the store!

Finally, today was the day. The whole time it was baking, I thought of Gardenmom (G-mom) and how much I miss her. She always made blueberry buckle.

It was finished baking by the time I was out of the shower and dressed to go to Portland. So I packed up a nice portion for Sam and we got out of here in a bit of a hurry. I wanted to stop by and give Sam his treat and then get to South Portland for my mammography. It all worked out perfectly!

Ater the mammogram, I had to drop off the event monitor I've been wearing for the last two weeks at my cardiologissts office.

Then a quick trip to Target because Maxi needed shampoo and I had to return some measuring spoons I had mistakenly bought. So I only went in to do those two things and ended up buying LOTS more!

How does that always happen?!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Morning all,
I slept in very late this morning .. was up from midnight till around 2.. had a big scary thunderstorm complete with big hail last night..was constant thunder for about an hour right over our house... sounded like a train outside our windows... my oldest called and said the sirens were going off in her neighborhood.. we didn't get sirens ... but went to basement anyway.. you never know... I don't think we had a whole lot of damage. my roses are battered, but will come back okay.. the news just said 7 tornados touched down last night- no where close to us though... another storm is coming tonit they say too... got my candles out and lots of water stashed... Carri and kids were okay too- lots of hail at her house- more then we got and she is 1/2 mile away.. her flowers were hit hard too but okay... haven't heard from son yet...
Merme how do you buy measuring spoons by accident? LOL! sounds like something I would do... Target is one of those stores where you see so many things you can use ... and I swear they rearrage the store every few months so you have to walk by all sorts of stuff you don't want to get to the things you do so you see more of "gee I could use that stuff" .. can't wait to see a pic of Maxi...

Well late start today- need to get busy and clean - no boys today so got to take advantage .. have a good day all!

Yikes, Nana, glad you and yours are fine through this one. We are cloudy and got a touch of hail around 9 this am, hope it doesn't get bad for you tonight!

I've never tried celery, Sunflowers! I may have to look into that.

My sis came for dinner and spent the night last night. It is so good to see her walking with just the cane. She has her last surgery, the left knee revision, June 18. But she hasn't walked so well in years. We had a wonderful visit. A little tired today as we managed to polish off a bottle of wine and by body really does not like me the next day after a few glasses of wine badday I'm usually better at stopping after one!

I feel like I've been running in circles today! I think I had better concentrate on a quilt so I can get some work done,
Have a great Thursday flwr
