We have a really nice lawn, but have noticed the urine spots from our two dogs seem to be worse this year. I have heard that I should use lime and something else to counter-balance the exra nitrogen that is turning my beautiful lawn yellow in spots. Can anyone help me?

Just be glad they are your dogs. My neighbors dogs are over in my yard doing their little dirty deeds

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

I can top that--one of the neighborhood dogs comes & leaves "gifts" on our front porch-goes out of his way to come here just to do it too.

The only thing I've ever heard that helped even a little bit is something called TurfPro and reseeding and not putting fertilizer on those spots.

You can hose down the spots that they pee on right after they are done. It would dilute the urine.

Junie Girl, where we live, dog owners can get in trouble if someone can prove that their dog was lose and doing it's business in your yard. Does the animal authority do anything like that where you live?? A friend of mine had that problem and finally caught the dog doing it's business and took the dog to our SPCA...which is usually the first place people in our area call if they've lost a dog. If the SPCA gets the same animal more than twice, it's owner is fined for letting it roam loose.

Jenn:
no, we have nothing like that---all we have is a dog catcher that comes form a neighboring town (20 minutes away) if needed.

It was the same here until I started bringing it back to the neighbors...right in the middle of their front top step that they walk out on as soon as they open the door grin

~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
