After hours of sweat and blood and manual labor, not to mention my wonderful DH doing the beautiful wood work, I have my very first veggie garden.

I bought a few packets of veggie seeds but I still have a lot of learning to do. A lot of learning. I'm excited though and wanted to share. I'm sure I'll be visiting this forum quite a bit.

Looks great and you are going to love the rewards....I've learned that the more I grow things, the more I need to learn! But what a wonderful classroom!

Is it in the sun most of the day? It looks like maybe it is near some large trees.

It's in a very sunny spot, which is part of why I chose that spot. The large trees aren't near it. It gets sun most of the day. That shadow you see is a very small tree. I'm 5'2" and I'm taller than that tree, lol.

That's good. I'm glad you have sprouts. I hope you have a great harvest. What did you plant besides the peas? Do you plan to do vertical gardening in the future? Did you do companion planting? What mix of soil did you use? Enquiring minds want to know.

I used two different brands of organic soil. I don't remember what one of them was but it supposed to be especially good for veggie gardens. The other brand I used was Miracle Grow organic soil. I put a bag of organic compost that was specially formulated for vegetables on top and watered it and let it sit for a few days. Then I planted the seeds, which are all Hume Organic seeds. Here are some pics of the progress so far. Tomorrow marks two weeks since planting the seeds.
