Hey everyone. My veggie garden is growing, three rows of seeds have already sprouted. I forgot to take my meds last night and therefore and feeling a little dizzy today but it's nothing to worry about. It got up to 77 yesterday, which felt very hot to us but nice at the same time. Had a good day with DH taking pics and shopping. Today I'm at work but suffering from the small amounts of dairy I've had this weekend so will probably go home early.

ditto, Cher

We are having our b-b-q tomorrow with the neighborhood! And we are supposed to have wonderful weather. I made boston baked beans and texas ranch style beans... both from scratch. I also made English Summer Pudding....a "pudding" made from brioche bread (also made from scratch) and berries. Yum Yum Picked more lettuce and radishes today, but I got too much lettuce, have to give some away!
Everyone have a great Memorial Day tomorrow

Burgers and dogs and sides for lunch. Chicken and taters and more sides for dinner. Ted and I drove to the National Cemetary and visited people we knew. And the geese and ducks in the ponds.

Last night I had just put some chicken and taters in the oven and my wonderful neighbor brought me over a fresh grilled cheeseburger, potato salad and macaroni salad...so I had the chicken and taters today. I always seem to end up with such good neighbors...well, except when I lived with Bill...lol

Same here..few and far between lol

All that talk of food is making me hungry.

Today is an outdoor day, grass to be cut, weeds to be weeded. Supposed to rain tomorrow and for the next 5 days.

Took the baby to the garden center yesterday...she loved it. "Buy this Grammie, buy this Grammie..and this and this one" shewinks . Annuals were .99 cents for a pack of four..she filled a tray of 8 and had a smile on her face bigger than when I take her to WalMart for a new toy. flwr

I've been doing yardwork all day...also transplanting slips off tough plants into a bottom of a deep ditch that's impossible to mow. Hope they take and cover the bottom with malva, coneflowers and black eyed susans.

all is quiet here now----everyone has gone home...

I am not going to water tonight--kinda guarantees that is will not rain here like it is supposed to, huh???

Good morning, raining here today so I will take a 'baking' day.

I clipped some lilacs off an old tree in an abandoned yard. Put them in warm water and they opened overnight..smells wonderful in here.

DH thinks we should dig out a slip and plant one in the back yard..I have a store bought variety in a different area but it seems it will take forever to grow. Maybe the old variety would be better.

Good morning, We had such a strange early spring, 80s in late March, then in April several freezing frost mornings, it did in the lilacs. I got hardly any flowers on my lilac, nor did any around my area, bushes along farms on the road side that are normally overloaded had NOTHING! And it made me so sad, they are my all time favorite! tears

Good Morning! I managed to sleep in a little. I woke up early but was finally able to convince myself to go back to sleep snooz

Sounds like a pretty ditch, Sunflowers! Good idea.

We too have had strange weather this spring, but our freezes missed the blooming time so our lilacs have been blooming fine, if not just a few weeks early! But I did cover my potted seedlings last night as the weather said 35 degrees. uhuhh

Had a wonderful picinic yesterday with my neighbors. Today I'm off to town to run errands and get my teeth cleaned. It always seems to take forever to get all the errands run!

Have a Terrific Tuesday flwr

Good morning. We have also been a weirder than usual spring. And it looks like a long hot summer ahead. I am getting ready to hunker down and hide from it.

Good Morning---yep weird weather for sure...
We have humid/hot one day & mild & chilly the next-- why

Sunny---when we moved form the farm, I took a slip of the white lilac bush that we h ad there for my DD & kept it in a pot in the house for a few years---now it is in a huge pot outdoors---(I am keeping it in a pot so when they get to what they think is their final house, they can take it & plant it.)

you might consider taking your slip indoors for a few years until it has a good start & then put it out.. why Just a thought.

Had to laugh Cindy Faye.. I watched it too and my ex bil (was married to my sister 3 times) is a Hatfield and a fine example he is of inbreeding gone wrong.. besides being a big a**, his hands look deformed cause his thumbs and fingers are all the same length... he doesn't have a lot of dexterity at all ... the show is very good though... sure were a violent bunch of people though...
Well off to bed now...
Have a good night all.. sleep well..

Pouring rain here and so cold, brrr.

I missed the Hatfield and McCoy shows..DH wouldn't switch the channel off the Little House on the Prairie series. We really need to get another television. Hoping it runs again soon...

Have a good day Carol..but yourself something.

Have to go for groceries later...but plan to spend the morning looking at plans for garden sheds. I am so excited that I am finally going to build one grin

Hi everybody! wavy

I'm sorry to hear it is so cold where you are, Sunflower.

We are in the 50's today.

Yesterday we had a thunderstorm which sounded like Armaggedon! No kidding. 5 AM and we all were jumping outta bed, eyes wide, startled to the sky. People heard it from an hour away. YIKES! It has been grey and dark and misting ever since, but no moe of that hellish thunder, yowza.

Maxi only has about 12 days left of school. He is tired and ready for summer break. Each day it seems a litle harder for him to get up and get going in his usual cheerful manner. And weekends he is intent on filling his time at the beach and with his friends. I think he is really ready for summer!

Gotta go get ready for dialysis. See you all again.

wavy

Thanks Carol..but I copied the plan from one online.

Hi Merme, you know who I am if you remember about the cold and snow haha I am under a 'name change' to keep a nosy person away.

Just got in from grocery shopping..at the price of things. I am soon going to have to cook and eat those dandelions like in the olden days.

Hi all,
Got up late today... so am running behind again... got to go hit grocery store and the pharmacy... Joe was up early to water in the fertilizer he put down.. have to water before 10 now so it's a early thing now...
He is fixing my clothesline today- he used to let the boys swing on it.. well they got to heavy and bent one of the arms... so he is now fixing it so it still works. The replacement ones are different and I don't want one if he can make this one work still..
School is out here tomorrow.. and it's a half day.. boys are so happy... we will be doing some school stuff here to keep them in the learning mode but will have lots of play days too..
Joseph is now working too... he seems to like it ... and will be getting his drivers licence soon too.. hope he can manage to save some of his wages too.. am going to talk to him about getting a savings acct set up with auto deposit ..
Well off to get my self moving to make my list and get the shopping done...

I like sleeping a little later. But I don't want to miss the cool daylight working hours of the morning. I worked outdoors this morning. And when the bugs came out I showered and went out to shop.
Next week is Ted's summer school beginning. So it will be back to alarm clocks.

I am sure my dad would go pick the young green parts of them when I was at home---clean them & mom would put boiled eggs & a vinegar/oil dressing on them. They were yummy. It was our salad.
I even think we ate them with a hot bacon/vinegar dressing on them---
