WOW !!! I am impressed.

I had hoped to plant sunflowers in what was my dad's gsrden.---but apparently my mom thinks it would be better to return his gardens back into yard----so no sunflowers for me this year--- tears--well unless she changes her mind......

Can I live vicariously thru you, Sheri?????

I know Shari--and I have even bought 2 varieties of seeds already---I had assumed that I would use my dads garden this year---Mom "had" said that my BIL weas going to put in some garden where dad used to so I was going to use some also. But now she says different.
maybe I could put in a few in my tiny garden this year anyway---if nothing else, there is the line where my blackberries should be going--
I was/going to put potatoes where my sunflowers were last year---things are so high this year.

Count me in--- hifive

We will do sunflowers this year, also, Sheri. But today we are getting 5 to 8 inches snow & tomorrow is April 1st!

Sheri-

I have ONE sunflower plant-- clap thumbup clap--
Rod is making noises about dismantling my raised veggie garden to help drain the water that sits all spring under the storage shed that we have in the back yard---& since I do not wish to argue with him over it, I only have 4 tomato plants and 1 sunflower plant in my garden this year. He says he may do the repair work in say July when everything is good and dry. rolz why

(well there is my asperagus & my herb bed----but just tomatoes & the 1 sunflower in the veggie part)----

when I move my garden I will likley cut it in half( to 4 sq feet)--I am hoping to get at least 2-3 asparagas plants in the new one though---- prayers
I DO have 2 tomato plants in pots on my deck & then onions in another one---so I am not completely without...

But for now ONE sunflower is better than none, right????

Dodge---Sheri--anyone---Who is thinking of planting some sunflowers this year---
I know my garden is tiny this year--& after Planted my asparagus, herbs & tomatoes, I did not have a whole lot of room left--but "where there is a will", I always say--
so I planted a very small row of "Dwarf Teddy Bear sunflowers" behind my one tomato plant and about a 4 to 5 ft row of "Autumn Beauty" sunflowers behind the peppers & odd tomato plant.
The last ones have 2 zucchini in the middle of them--I thought they could provide my squash with some shade in the heat of the day--- why

I always make room for Sunflowers!! I have several Maximilians and even started some Skyscraper Sunflowers in my seedling room. My dh almost killed them when I was gone one time, he forgot to water them. But I think they will make it. I also has some "unknown" sunflower seeds so I sprouted them and have them growing under the lights. Not sure where they will all go, but it will we a Sunflowery place around here this summer. Good idea about shading the squash! I love the ideas I get from here! I can't wait to see the pictures!

They never grow well here, but I live through the wonderment of it all through everyone else's gardens.
