Thought Lenten rose was Helleborous.. Mine are in bloom.. No leaves like that tho.

The only difference I can see between this plant and the Jacob's Ladder is that this plant's leaves are somewhat serrated. The pictures I found of Jacob's Ladder were of a more smooth edge variety.

It may be a species of Aralia.

We had a couple of these at our old house. It's the start of a black walnut tree. They grow FAST!! Pull it out NOW while you still can. It'll have a tap root (???) that is long and hard to get out.

Actually, your's looks more like a Butternut.....but my thought is still the same. Get rid of it now while you still can!
