I was wondering about Cindy and her dad also. Hopefully she'll post soon. Having a loved one in the hospital can be a trying experience. I don't trust hospitals, and when my mom was in the hospital for an extended stay one of us girls stayed with her 24/7, but we are lucky to have 5 girls in the family so we could all get some rest and take care of ourselves. We often comented that it would be so much more difficult without a large family to help!

Feeling better, but am getting ready to take a nap thumbup

I get on here and don't even know what to say anymore. Seems like it used to be all fun and games now it's just bad news all the time.
They got my dad's hemorrhaging under control finally...he went in the hospital for pneumonia and while putting a catheter in they ruptured "something" and since he is on a major blood thinner he almost bled to death.

I have been to doctors yesterday and today. Found out at the hematologist today that all my blood numbers are off the charts but she won't tell me ANYTHING about what could be wrong...she made me an appointment with the head oncologist to find out. They freak you out with bad news then make you wait for 2 weeks to have MORE tests before they tell you anything. It doesn't even really matter much at this point...I've about given up...I'm too tired to keep dealing with this [BLEEP].

I am up early also and tried to go back to sleep without success. Guess I got too much sleep the last couple of days with the flu! Feeling great today! bop Hubby was off turkey hunting the past 5 days and for the very first time he got one! Now we'll have to see how good it tastes! We just put it in the freezer for now as when he got home yesterday I didn't feel as if I wanted to do anything with it! The discussion this am...he wants to deep fry it and I want to smoke it! I'll let you know who wins this discussion. grin

I'm transplanting my tomotoes today. The weather the past few days has reminded me that winter can creep in at any time yet! And while reading about tomaotes....I guess they like to be transplanted if you bury almost the whole plant! Didn't do that last year. And some of my plants were spindly. So this year I started them in a small yogurt container. I have since transplanted them into a larger container, and I left just the top leaves showing above ground. They have grown quickly and the stems are very thick! So now I have some...probably half gallon containers, and I plan on transplanting them again where just the top 2 sets of leaves are showing. Realisticly I have a month before I can put them outside. I'll let you know how this works for me! flwr

Cindy---Good idea on the container gardening---and if you cannot find one big enough, buy a cheap storage container--they are a bit bigger--& put a few drain holes in the bottom of it & use it----

BTW: I often grow one or 2 in pots, it is much more convienient with my surgeries & such.

I have no problem with you talking to us about stuff that bothers you. I think it helps the soul to get one's frustrations out.

Well, this is the only place I can...and I hesitate to do it here. I don't want to burden anyone with my illnesses...I never tell my mom and dad what is going on with me, and sometimes I don't tell Rachel. I figure 'what they don't know won't hurt them'...since they can do nothing about it but worry.
When I see the oncologist I will tell you all...if you promise not to tell my family...LOL

I know what you mean, that's why I stopped coming. Hoping things are better this time round.

well got my 2 mile walk in this morning, going to be hot today. I want to till behind my shed and plant some sun flowers there. grin

Got 10 tomato plants I need to find a place to plant. So glad I didn't plant them yet, windy as heck this past week end, would have give them wind burn nervous

Planted some containers yesterday and found a wasp nest attached to one uhuhh Glad I found it early.

Getting new windows put in this week-end. applaud I hope, suppose to rain and they'll cancel if it rains. But we do need the rain.

Every time I have planted sunflowers, the critters have enjoyed the baby plants as they tried to grow. I would love to defeat the critters and raise a crop.

Boy I really feel like I am playing hookey today  Can't work as the vibration from the machine makes my hand hurt really bad....but I can play in the dirt!! Got my tomatos transplanted, transplanted my onions outside...my first attmept at onions from seed. The jury is still out on that one! I also got some "strawberry rubarb" roots planted. I got these from a friend last fall, and had intended to plant them in the fall, but life got a little crazy and didn't get them done. I hope I didn't wait too long. The roots still looked good and were firm, so hoping they will make it. I was told these came from her grandmother and my friend is 70, so they've been around a while. Cindy, I have a friend that grows a dozen tomato plants in tubs and she always has great results. Nothing like a fresh tomato clap Does anyone know anything about a flower called indigo? It was just a pretty flower on the flower packet so I bought some seeds....I tried twice now and out of the 8 seeds I have planted only one has come up. I'm going to keep trying, but if anyone has any suggestions they would be welcome. I always do sunflowers. this year I planted some Mammoth Sunflower seeds in the seedling room and they might outgrow my grow lights before I can plant them outside!! I am planning on planting them with my corn, read that aphids will go to the sunflower plants and the ants will gobble them up. Either way I am going to enjoy the sunflowers. I also have Maxamillion Sunflower plants. These have been around for about 8 - 10 years now. I have separated them many times and give away the sections. When is the best time to separate them? They probably need to be separated again. If I should separate them now I would be glad to share, just pay postage. For those who haven't seen Maxamillions, they get 6-8 feet tall, end up being bushy, and have small sunflowers along the stalks. I think they are rated a zone 3. Well been a busy morning and am looking forward to playing in the dirt a little more after brunch flwr

I tried to grow sunflowers and the critters found the seeds within days. I get some red sunflowers to come up that year. I woke up with a bit of a sore foot today. Tried to stretch it by taking a walk, now it hurts so bad I can barely put weight on it. Hope it's better by tomorrow. The kids go back to school on Monday so their spring break is almost over. It'll be nice to get back into a routine again.

I was reading that I could plant my Blackberry plants & my new asparagus now--so that is Ia think I will do. The rest h as to wait until nexty monmth--although I have already bought 3 tomato plants, 1 sweet basil plant, an Osteospermum and of course some basil seed.

I LOVE eating chopped tomatoes, garlic & basil mixed with pasta in the summer---yum!!! I cannot wait...

Good morning! Sunny, sorry they're calling for snow. Bobbie, have fun outside on your perfect spring day. Tina, glad your pasta was good and that your son is eating. Junie, have a nice visit with your sister. Not too much going on for me today. Laundry, grocery shopping, and if there's time, cleaning out a storage area in the basement. I have to do it either today or tomorrow.

I put a pork roast in the crock with veggies. And I got some fresh mulch spread out on the gnome mound. Trash is all out. But not a lot more done today besides hauling my son to and from school and stopping to shop each way.

Well, this is bark-y stuff from a bag. It does smell good, though. I am just replacing some of what the winds blew away to keep on weighing my weedcloth down. I need to get more up there. But I have some around the ranch I can collect.
