This year I'm noticing that only 2 of my tulips have produced flowers. All of the rest of them are only putting up leaves. Any reason why they'd do this?? I have a friend whose tulips always do this....year after year. Are they lacking something??

I have had similar issues as my plants age. Are you cutting off the seed heads after the flower falls off? I have found trimming the stem and leaving the leaves until they brown has helped them flower the following year.

I don't think I cut it off. Nothing other than dried up leaves were visible when I finally mowed them over last year. why

I would dig a few up to see if they have been damaged, perhaps even bring a bulb to your local nursery and see if they have any suggestions too. Quality bulbs are more expensive but worth it.

Sometimes they just need to be divided...also not being buried at the right depth.

They've always flowered for me before and they are single flowers...not in clumps. I think I'm just going to leave them alone. I got some tulips and daffodils from our church today (5 pots with 6-9 bulbs in each pot) and am going to plant them. I'm also going to contact my husband's uncle who owns a greenhouse down in Altoona and get all of the bulbs that he is going to throw away after the bulb season is done. :)

Mine do okay I guess, I really have to keep an eye open to see a bloom, they bloom, the wind blows the petals off and then they are naked, naked tulips are just not as pretty

The one tulip that has a bloom isn't even open yet. All the rest are definitely just leaves....not even a stem for a bloom. LOL....it's like they decided to just be foliage this year.

Mine are all leafy so far with only a few buds. I think its just the weather thats thrown them off. I don't usually get blooms this early anyway.

I never have luck with tulips...the moles seem to enjoy them too much.
