Evening all....
Hi we thought we were going to have almost a day to ourselves today- at least till school was out.. but Nicoli is sick and then school called and Timba came home sick too.. think it might be strep.. stomach aches and sore throats... so far Derek is okay... I see Doc visits in the near future...
We got more snow last night too.. just a few inches though and it was light snow so easy to shovel...and they say more is coming... Febuary is making up for January in a big way it seems...

We made valentine boxes today for the parties at school... one is from a wipes container- he turned it into frankenstien.. one is a traditional box with hearts... all in blue... and one is a creeper character from a computer game... mouth is the place to put the valentines... they are boys!no hearts, flowers or doilys for them... I am almost out of constuction paper so it went on my list for Sams next time we go...
Well it's almost dinner time for us too... making tuna burgers for us... and a pasta salad... actually found some tomatos that smell like tomatos for a change... have a good evening all!
Nana

I pinned this site and a couple plant pics from this site to pinterest and within 10 minutes there were 3 people who repinned this site. How is everyone tonight? I decided to try tanning, we'll see how that goes.

Good Morning grin Good News,,
My Daughter in Ks is getting married Next fall, clap She told me she is having 9 bridesmaids Not her choice, her fiance' wanted 9 groomsmen, shock soooo she agreed. Because her wedding is in late November she is centering it around late fall/early winter deco. She wants manzanita branches with tea light candles on them as center pieces. it's going to be an early evening wedding, so there will be lots of candles. Problem is she is having a hard time finding a wholesaler to get these branches at a decent price,, But at least we have time to keep looking. About time my family has wonderful news and something sweet to look forward too! clap
BTW she is trying to keep the guest list under 500,, shock

Cindy--sure you do--you just don't realize it. Besudes there is the gooms family to consider--so it is 250 from each side--and yoiu divide that by 4 people in the average family & that is not so many. Esp. when you invite family first before you even think of friends & say co-workers--yep it qucikly gets there unfortunately.
My girls had around 400 in their weddings---well I have no idea how many were invited to my oldest's last wedding. She wad a big wedding for the 2nd one as well because her fiance` had never been married before. I think I was just lucky that I was even invited to it.

Diane--Congratualtions!! and yes, high time that you had some happy news--occasion !!! Keep us informed so we can be happy with you/for you/for her. What color scheme is she going with ??/

off to rehab-then my sister's then my MIL to do things for her--catch you all later--- wavy

Hello all...just read the local little paper and wanted to share this with you.

Mr Clark a local fellow writes a column in it..made me laugh:

Canadian Globalization~ Went to the grocery store and looked for Canadian items, I found out that the blueberries were from Chile, carrots from California, Lamb was from New Zealand and the kiwi was from Italy, proceeded to look and further complications...the Italian food was from Taiwan, the Mexican food from Thailand, the Thia food was from Malaysia, frozen food labelled Europe's Best was from China and the Spanish rice was from Chile but the chilles were from Ecuador. I searched some more and the Brazil nuts were from Hawaii, Portobello mushrooms were from Portugal and even found food from Zanzibar(no one even knows how to get to Zanzibar). "Is there anything Canadian?" you ask. Yes, the checkout girl is from 3 blocks East. haha

This is funny. But I keep remembering that, in my grandparents time, there was not much fresh in the way of fruits and vegetables in the cold months. And not a lot more in my parents time. And what they could get was very pricey. We are very blessed that much more is here for us.
I love to eat local as much as possible. And I am lucky to be able to do so a lot. But I wouldn't give up my options for the wide varieties available to me. Thank goodness for modern transport moving this stuff around the world.

It is hard to eat local here but I do try. Preserving and freezing helps. This year I am hoping to get more bottles so I can try new recipes and bottle up fresh bean pods and such.

I called and got an appointment tomorrow to get my hand checked..it is even more sore today than the past week.

Morning all,

Just finished paying bills and now it's off to store to spend it... groc shopping ...

Joe is off this week..he has been going thru stuff.. found some old cassette tapes and a couple players for them- then boys found them... Footloose and a MJ one and wanted them... so he gave them to the boys ... these boys like older music more than the new stuff .. so now he is going thru records to see if they want any of it- he has a box of blank tapes he can put it on... LOL! Man keeps stuff forever...

We are supposed to get more snow in the next few days.. more snow so far in Feb than in all of Jan... but guess we need it- mtn skiers are happy for sure... wish it could stay up thee though... my front yard is still a foot deep from the last 2... LOL!
Well off to get moving to stores... Have a good day all... !

And I second that with Carol, no one dies ! thats in full don't mess with Nana voice!
congrats Diane, weddings are fun to plan... did my youngest dd's almost 11 yrs ago and we had fun doing it- was a lot of work though.. and we had a yr and a half to do it.. over 300 guests.. buffet dinner... and a wonderful reception... the dj is the key for that I think... ours was so good.. he even got my at the time 85 yr old MIL to dance..
We went to a Kmart today to look around- they really cleaned it up from the last time we had been there.. prices were better than the Target close to us too..
We have a new store here too called Tradesmart.. they sell used video games, systems, rent games and dvd's too.. they also sell books of all kinds.. and you can take yours in and get credit toward ones you buy then take them back and do it again.. I got 7 books including 2 hardbacks for less than 20 dollars.. couple for Timothy and one for Derek and one for Nicoli all in really good shape... I love getting a good deal..
Well I am off to take a hot bath and hopefully get my achy body to quit aching quite so much- this weather is not good for my old bones.. Nite all

Good morning...hope you feel better today Cindy kissie

I am off in a few to get my hand checked....hoping they at least give me a splint for it. Yesterday I had to wrap a big wooden spoon against my hand so I could mop the floors haha

Have a great day everyone...

Good Morning !!!

First let me say---no one dies---you know--it is such a permanent thing---yoiu cant get up the next day & change your mind.

2) Sunny, just let me say---if your hand even MIGHT be broke---there will be NO using it for things like moping---I am sure yoiur house i s clean enough to wait a few days until the Drs tell you what you can & cant do for awhile. If I learned anything thru all my malidys it was the house "will" wait for you, honest---While there are no little faries around to come and do your work, nothing horrid will happen while yoiu are waiting to get better--besides, cant your DH use a mop for once or twice ???
That was good thinking about the wooden spoon though--- kissie

well tmoday my mom & I are going out to put together a college care package for my nephew. And then I am off to my MIL's to do the work I should have done yesterday---
It i s overcast out today--I hope it does not rain--(there is talk you see)

We've had such beautiful weather here the last couple months. My daughter and I go to the park almost every day. Very odd weather for winter. My husband is home today. The agency he works for is almost certainly going to be eliminated due to the budget cuts here so he has been sending out job applications.

We are headed to the park again today. It's sunny and warm. flwr

Best of luck for your husband. I hate all of the budget cuts. I really feel bad for all of the unemployed here and everywhere.
Our weather has been spectacular also. It is to get cooler this weekend and the week to follow. But still nothing like our normal. My iris are blooming up a storm.

Broken hand, no good. Icky spider bite, even worse. I thought the only poisonous spider we had was the hobo, do they think that's what bit you? Hope you're both okay.
