Hello everyone,

I have had this plant for many years and within the past year or so it has been growing like crazy.

I have used a few twist-ties to help support it and a few twigs. It's getting very top heavy and I'm not sure what to do with it. Does it need a new pot? Do these plants typically keep growing upright? I'm not even sure what kind of plant it is, but I do really like it.

Any tips would be great. Thanks!

That is a type of peperomia. They do tend to get leggy. You can cut off pieces and root them to make another plant. At the site where you make the cut off the mother plant, new leaves should grow out. This can take some time, so patience is needed. Or you can let it grow long like a vining plant.

Thanks very much for your help! Does it matter where I make the cut on the plant? It would be nice to start a second one.

If I decide to remove the sticks/supports will it break the plant? It's fairly heavy and I don't want to damage any of the stems.
