I'll have to try and get some bird pictures because I was thinking this morning that it sounds like spring around here. Our temps have been warm and the birds are singing just like it's spring time. I keep seed out all year round. I'm been thinking maybe I should redo the hummingbird feeders.

I just love getting garden related stuff as gifts.

Junie, did someone build the elevated container gardens for you?

I think the birds are starting to build nests. Seriously. Bluejays have been working hard on a knot hole in a tree by the barn and and my daughter said birds have been bringing twigs to the eave on her porch for a few days now. They have at least once nest there a spring.

Thanks Sheri, I just love getting that kind of gifts too. no they found them one day while out shopping, they said there was a good sale---they are a certain brand---I figure I can put my herbs in one & hopefully my tomatoes in the other--then all I will need a ground bed for is my asperagus--

what say you, Bill---can I plant tomatoes in an elevated veggie bed???

Beautiful shots, Sheri! I would love to see a bluebird in person. We only have bluejays here, though I did read recently that bluebirds were making a come back here.

is it that unseasonably warm that the birds are confused???? I wonder what will happen this spring???--or better yet---what will happen say in 2 weeks when it gets cold ????

I have kept birdfeeder in my backyard to attract the birds, my only big problem is squirrels and i have to refill my feeder with fresh seeds everyday. I saw some birds started coming to my yard. Will post the pictures very soon.

Squirrels are a problem for me too and we have 15 pecan trees they could be eating from and we have 2 outside cats that you'd think would scare them off. I've tried a lot of different things to keep them away. Now I've got my feeders on shepherds hooks so hopefully the squirrels can't jump to them.

I have my cats to keep the squirrels at bay, but seems those squirrels are bold enough even I have got a squirrel proof feeder for the birds. Lastly I have created little squirrel feeding area far from my garden. Now they dont bother to come to my yard.

I know I should not say this---as I dont wish to temp fate by saying this---but there are a LOT of squirrels around on all sides of my yard----BUT they do not seem to bother my feeders much---I do know to consider myself lucky. I have thought of setting out feeders just for them, but I dont wish to attact them to my yard any more than they already are.
