Good morning. I woke before my alarm. I do prefer that to waking to the alarm.
Today it is Ted to school then some shopping. Then home to work on my new shed floor.
I did decide to keep Ted home from school tomorrow to avoid the nasty traffic tangle down in town. But that event is great for the local economy and pretty fun for all so I won't gripe about it.

Bear is one thing I have not tried yet. I do love elk and venison.
It is to be cool this weekend so I will be cooking. I haven't cooked much the last couple of months due to heat.

I have eaten Emu, venison (I like it if it is prepared right) and many different wild birds...
Venison is a "bonus" meat for me where my heart is concerned... thumbup

I've had ostrich, not emu though. I've also had venison, alligator, and quail.

What a super busy week at work. I'm definitely going to need to adjust to the extra work. My feet and legs are very sore when I get home. Thankfully, it's usually gone by morning. I already did grocery shopping yesterday so I get to have a real day off tomorrow. I still have to get the kids to school but that's no biggie.

You deserve a day off, Cheryl. What extra work are you doing these days?
I have gator in my freezer still. I should dig it out and cook it up. Emu/ostrich is good. But I really like looking at them alive best. Really low cholesterol though.

Tina, I have to help out the therapy department with a lot of miscellaneous things. Basically I'm trying to cram a part time job along with my regular job. My office mate and I share the work but it's almost a full time job on it's own so it's almost like a 2nd part time job for us but we still are expected to only work 40 hours a week. My boss is too cheap to hire someone and the reason that therapy needs this help to begin with has to do with the boss selling our therapy department to a company with unrealistic expectations. We really like our therapy people and feel bad that they have so much pressure on them so I'm not upset with therapy.

wavy Hi everybody!

I got up quite early this morning and made my way down the hall. I had planned to get on-line before the place got busy! So I went through everything to log in and sat here reading back. Just when I was ready to post something, a big guy w/ a loud, obnoxious voice came in w/ his cell phone and started yakking! He was being such a bully to the family member he was speaking to, I had to go back to my room. And have been very busy ever since!

Now I will have to go back and read again about Sherrri, Cheryl and Carol Jean as I can't remember what I was going to say earlier!

Today is my 55th birthday!

Well I finally made it back out of my room and nobody needs me for pills, squeezes, sticks or thumps, YAY!

I had some unexpected visitors today and some phone calls. How happy was that?!

Now I am ready for some Red rose Tea and a long relax.

Good night all.
I am happy that my shed interior is done. It was a slightly bigger job than I envisioned. I only used what was on hand so no funding went into it. And I still need to work on the exterior a bit and paint it. It has lots of rust happening. But I have tucked storage back into it after sorting and tossing. And I have room for lots more storage. So more and more is getting cleaned up around out there the way it should be. I can move things out of the gazebo that should not be there. And it can be a gazebo again.

Hmm.. I did not do it all myself. I had my older son here to help. I would have had a lot of trouble hauling the 16 foot 4X6 beams around that I used for the base. And I really left most of the work up to him. He is feeling pretty good about the job. I was the gopher and hauling out my toys for him (power tools). I was the planner and designer and left him to fulfill. I maybe would have done a couple things differently but I did not want to breath down his neck. And it does not have to last forever. Just the next 20 years or so. grin

I sat around and did nothing all day. I got the kids to school, ate breakfast, went back to bed, got up, sat on the couch, got bored with the internet, watched a TV show, watched two movies, then made dinner. After dinner the boys and I went out to a movie while the girls went to a football game. It was a nice day, actually. Tomorrow I will do my long run and laundry. Good night!

Saturday morning and I've already finished w/ my coffee and am working on a nice cup of Red rose Tea. The sunshine is lovely out there today.

I am not sure of the exact dates of the facility I am in, but the majority of it is at least 100+ years old and very beautiful. Long red brick buildings, many windows, fascinating rooftops and park-like grounds. A person can get a great view from anywhere! In one direction, it is possible to see The White Mountains of New Hampshire. Opposite view from there is the very fine Cascoo Bay. It is always a treat to look out the windows, especially if one is high up as I am today, above the trees. Great view!

I won't be seeing Maxi today so I am really hoping to see him tomorrow. If I go to the local care place, I will be able to see Maxi daily and we'll be able to fool around bside the Back Bay. If I go to the place that is out of town, I will not see him hardly at all! So you know I'm voting for the nearby facility! Gotta see how the paperwork plays out, though!

Those days are good for the soul, Carol. Just not as good to the sciatic. It's not too bad though, I can just tell that I've been sitting a lot. It's cool and breezy out, maybe a little rain today. Perfect running weather. I'll be going out as soon as I get my first load of laundry into the dryer.

Ah, laundry. I was forgetting. Thank you. I don't have much but I want it done.
I am debating how to spend the rest of my day after all my kids leave for the Route 66 Rendezvous. Well, not all. Ted will be here with me. I may just nap first, then decide.

Discharge orders got a little messed up this morning and they wanted to send me to one location just for tonight and another location beginning tomorrow! Fortunatley, saner heads prevailed and the social worker in charge said "we are keeping her one more night and only sending her to one destination~" Phew! So I'm here the extra day and that will make tomrrow easier on me also as it is a dialysis day.

It's been a lonely weekend what with the kids not around, but the nurses have been particularly outgoing and that helps.

Hoope y'all are well.

Rain would be nice. I would like some. But it isn't very likely this time of year.
Good night. We had a nice day followed by a nice evening. And I am tired. Ted is ready for a new school week.

That is a good bit of rain, Carol. I am glad you get a day at home even if it means hanging around waiting on the phone.
I got my kid to school and stopped to shop. I do need to get gas and maybe shop a little more before picking him up again. I came home and put away dishes from last night's party and puttered around cleaning this and that. I do need to get some major fall cleanup done indoors. But the weather keeps me heading outside too often. And cleaning out there is not a bad thing either.

Good evening everyone. I'm late to the party, as usual. Work wasn't as bad today, which was really nice. We're having our state inspection and there's no telling how long they'll be in our building. So far things seem to be going well but I don't really know for sure. I'm on a plan where I pick one thing every day that I don't really want to do and just do it. Yesterday I cleaned out my drawers, today it was going to the store for a couple of things instead of putting it off. Maybe tomorrow I'll clean my bedroom, we'll see. Anyway, I'm going to read for a bit until I fall asleep. Sleep well everyone!

Good late morning. I turned off my alarm today and rolled back over. So i am feeling rested and ready for the day.
Cheryl, when something comes up that I really want to do, I make myself do a dreaded thing before I reward myself with the thing I really want to do. Like if I want to bake, I may make myself clean my oven first. Or take my stovetop apart for a deep cleaning. I have also done drawer cleaning/organizing as job to earn my rewards. Last year it was rake and weed my whole acre before I could build my gnome mound.
Today I am taking our gently used clothing to the community center that gives them away to the needy for free. And I am taking my older son and his clothing too. Then I have a mess of bikes and bike parts to take down into town to a friend of my son's who rebuilds them for needy kids and things.
I am going through all of my camping gear and sorting out old sleeping bags to give to the homeless as well.
Times are tough here in Cal with unemployment rates up in the mid teens in our area. And I also want to clear out some of the clutter. I am not a hoarder but I have a problem throwing away things that someone may find helpful. Or things that may still have a use. I am very glad my son is now close by to help me find homes for some of it all.

Good morning.
I hope you slept finally, Carol.
I am up and ready for the day. I have a bit of shopping and banking to do today. Then more sorting and tossing is on the agenda. I am very happy with a lot of the things finding new homes and having room to move in my storage sheds. They are also just cleaner and tidier. When I die, my kids will have much less junk to go through.

I am about finished with my camping supplies shed. I am getting rid of a couple of tents and several sleeping bags. These will go to homeless people that are known to my older son. (Along with a solar shower).
I still have 7 tents left. And a few good sleeping bags, 2 screen rooms and two canopies. And a mess of tarps and poles to construct temp shelter for bunches of people if needed. This is my emergency supplies in case of a major earthquake or something. I also have stored water and things in there that I will refresh tomorrow. I let it all ride for the last couple of years. I really needed to clean and organize. And I am so glad my older son is back in town to help with the heavy stuff.
And a lot has been done. That is 2 storage sheds done and one trailer emptied and gone. We had to construct a whole new floor for the first shed. I have 2 more sheds and the gazebo to clean out and one more trailer.
No, I am not a hoarder but between John and I, we had a hard time tossing things that someone, somewhere could still use. I am just finding those people to share the stuff with now.
And I am having fun. My son is impressed with what we collected and happy to be able to share with needy acquaintances. He has enjoyed going through the stuff too.

Sweet dreams, Carol. Did you miss that my adult son was doing most of the heavy work? I am pointing and labeling and cleaning the stuff off as it comes out and before it goes back in. He is doing most of the lifting and things.
My arthritic knees are aching just going up and down the short set of stairs up the hillside to this shed. I am also washing all of the sleeping bags and things. But my hands are not so good at the rolling-them-back up part any more. So he is elected.
It is nice to have a slave. But he is a well payed slave. I cook and pay for feeding him and give him some cash as well. It is wonderfully mutual labor.
