Good Morning ~~ today begins w/ me talking to the nurse where my MIL lives--apparently the MIL is giving them a hard time about the new weigh in system they are having to do on her. Fortunately for me, I have to do the same so I know how it is sup[posed to be.

everyone have a good morning--- grin

wavy Good morning, everybody!

Gee, what a busy week I have had. Even now, I only have a few minutes before I must dash off and begin to get ready to leave for dialysis.

Maxi comes home tonight. He was having such a good time, he asked to stay another night! And, tonight his little brother DJ is coming also. It will be DJ's very first sleepover, ever. He is pretty excited.

I am going to let the boys walk one block to Doughboy's Deli and have their dinner there. DJ will feel like such a big kid getting to do that without an adult present.

This morning I stocked up on fruit and snacks so the child will feel more at home.

It is great to see Mark back.

Carol I had early cataracts and had my surgery at 42. I've heard the newer techniques are much better these days but even so, I had no problems at all and that was 12 years ago. Sherri/Nana had hers more recently, I believe, and could probably tell you useful information.

Cheryl good running on Saturday.

Beth how is the little one?

Cindy what's up with you, my friend?

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Merme thanks for telling me that----
There was a girl at the Drs that volunteered that she had already had catarac surgery--(she was clearly younger than me--not sure she had seen 40 yet) So I guess it happens....

I will be sure to speak to Sherri--thanks for that as well...

Hi Carol,
Yes had my surgery last year.. they said I had early ones too.. and from the people in the clinic office I was.. LOL!
I had both eyes done.. worse one first.. took longer to get to office and for the prep stuff first, surgery is about 15 min- it's uncomfortable for a day , they give you pain meds and I only took one, having my eye patched for 24 hours was not the best feeling but slept thru most of it anyway, second eye was 2 weeks later.. and went even better.. hardest part after was waiting for enough healing to take place to get new glasses.. I spent the extra money above what ins covered for the best lenses,I have a lot of astigmatism and they were able to fix most of it.. I see better now than ever.. been wearing glasses since I was 7 ..
Well off to get ready for the boy invasion... they are looking fwd to school starting in a couple weeks... me too!

Thanks Sherri---well I guess that is why the Dr offered to buy back my glasses if I needed the surgery.
The cararacs have made my eyes so much better I could almost get by with the really old pair of my glasses I am wearing now until I get my old frames w/ new lenses back, (I can see clear with them but print is like grey instead of black )

But thanks again....

I'm going crazy here. It seems that the liquid meds they prescribe for ear infections only come in this one nasty flavor. I'm want to find out why and complain. This stuff stinks. I'm going to try chocolate syrup later. One spoonful before the med and one after. Otherwise my LO will have to go in for shots. Makes me want to cry.

Beth..Speaking as a mom that was in the Drs about every 2 weeks with a little One w/ an ear infection--I know that while Amoxil is the most cost effective it is not the only drug that can be used---and while I know they do not use them much anymore--there is also medicated drops that one can use--about the choc--good luck---but you may well have to put your foot down---you could always ask her if she would pre3fer the bad tasting meds (the taste only lasts a short while after all) or would she prefer to go get a shot, say the choice is up to her----she may just start taking the meds for you---

again good luck

Beth go to a pharmacy and see if you can get a barrel syringe from them - used to give infants liquid meds,, I still use it for my grands when they take amoxillian, it is nasty but with the syringe you can squirt it toward back of the throat so she won't taste , we always have a drink too for right after to wash it down, always works for my grands and for my youngest who was also one to have ear troubles a lot.
It would be worth a try to avoid a shot for her.

Sorry to hear about your little one, Beth. In our experience the ear drop antibiotics tend to work better, but maybe that's just when they get older. Hope you can find a way to get her to take the medicine so she can feel better.

It's been mostly a lazy day for me today. We were out of coffee and I broke down and went to the store just for that. I feel loads better now, lol. Got my laundry going and came up with a meal plan for most of next week for me. I called Joey's doctors office to confirm a shot that the school district didn't think he'd had (he did), and now I'm waiting on DH to tell me what to go grocery shopping for for him and the kids. I really need to get out and get some weeding done, maybe I'll do a bit before I have to make dinner.

Good morning. I am up for now. I am sure I will be napping later. I have no big plans other than to help my youngest daughter with a few things and my oldest may swing by later.
