Today's photo is thanks to my hubby, who alerted me that there was "an very interesting bird out here" this morning. He (she?)sat on the wire long enough for me to watch for a bit and go inside to get my camera. My husband said as soon as I put my camera away, it flew away.

Terrific shot! Have you seen how bright yellow the underside of their wings are?

We have then here too - they like to pull insects out of the grass, unlike my other types of woodpeckers that eat from the feeder.
