Hello everyone.

I have been keeping a vegetable container garden for the past few years and I have always been happy with the results. This year I decided to move away from the potting soil I would buy at the local chain store and purchased some quality soil from a grow shop.

I was really pleased by the results. I started my seeds indoors with some lights, just like I have done in the past, but my plants seemed super strong and very green and happy. I ended up transplanting my tomatoes and moving them outside a full month early because they were so big!

So now it is the first week in May and half of my tomato plants have flowers getting ready to burst. I live on Long Island and I feel like this is way too early for flowers, even if the plants are 2 feet tall and could support the fruit.

Should I leave the plants alone or should I remove the buds?

Also, I have been feeding the tomatoes and other vegetables in my garden nutrients to help with vegetation. If I leave the blooms as the are, should I start feeding them nutrients for flowering this early in the season?

Thanks for any insights and help!
