Who buys roses in winter? I do.

What can I say 3 for 10.00 I couldn't pass it up. See I have this white two rail fence that is flaking paint and the clay has stained the bottoms of the fence posts and I don't have sufficient water pressure to get it clean...anyway, I decided that roses draped over these railings will save me the painting or ugly look.

These are the first full sized roses I have ever had and I'm excited and worried of course. Right now I have them in pots growing indoors in my south west facing windows.

What do you think. Am I in for trouble or is it a good price and a good idea?

Peace roses are one of my favorites...and I don't see how you could go wrong with that price. If they don't grow for you (...but I think they will...) you haven't lost much.

Back in the old days when I was on the test panel for Jackson and Perkins I grew their Peace roses...and even though Rachel was just a pre-teen then she loved them and it has always been her favorite.

I have never had the climbing ones...I'd love to have those.

Can I put them outside to harden off now, or is it too early?

I can now answer this question. It was an early warming snap that snapped back with a 30 F overnight temperature drop. We have now cooled back down into the 60's. So the roses are staying in the house until April 15th.
