Hi - I'm a new member living in the Central Coast of California (USDA zone 9). I want to plant an evergreen vine on a fence. It must be non-poisonous as our neighbors have two little children. I'm considering clematis armandii, blood red trumpet vine, and potato vine. Are these good choices? Any other suggestions? (There's sun, good soil, mulch for shaded roots, and there's lots of room for it to spread.)

Thanks for your help!

all sound good, but remember that trumpet vine can be invasive.

Chocolate Vine semi-evergreen
Veil of Lace Vine
Clematis armandii
Climbing Wild Hydrangea
Holboellia
Passion flower Vine

Here are some evergreen vines for your zone. I didn't check the toxicity so you'll have to do that before choosing one. I hope there is something you like on the list.

Heronswood nursery has 100's of vines you might want to check out.

does jasmine grow in your area? I'm in NC and mine stays green all year and flowers 2 times a year.
