So I take it this site is safe? My headshrinker told me to play a game on the internet...to keep me from thinking about "stuff"...and I'm afraid to venture outside of Webkinz.

Pogo is very, very safe. Lots less hassles than Webkinz. Fewer glitches. Lots of game choices. And kind of cute. There are commercials between games for the free games. I purchased a membership so I dispense with the commercials and get more games.

Good morning everyone !!

it i s 50*F here---can you imagine??? and NOT raining !!

today I will be washing clothes and finishing up my thank you's for Daddy's funeral. I have a few of my own to send.

DH is off again today---he is off to my dad's property to spend the day with nature. That will give me some peace & quiet !!!

Dante got his first can of "Mighty Dog" canned food this morning---it looks like beef stew, so he was very happy. I am sure his 12 yr old teeth appreciated it as well. Sad for him though he will not be getting that every day, as it will be a "filler" for his regular diet which is dry food that is part crunchy morsels & part soft morsels, which is still easier o n his teeth.

(just still thinking about dogs from last nights conversation)

Yes, I knew exactly where your mind was, Carol. I have never gotten my dog the canned food. My vets have always said dry food is best for both their system and for their teeth. And bits of table scraps help with some supplemental vitamins and fats and just for fun.
Nowadays vets sell 'prescription' foods right out of their offices. My dog has tried some of that pricey stuff from other dogs but he was not impressed.
Oh, and good morning all.

we have moved to the half soft/half firm dry food because of dante's age after my vet asked me if we had had to go to wet food yet, which of course we had not----so we figure a mix is a good idea. My youngest just had been given some coupons for this box of wet food.

Since Christmas, in the morning we put a bit of chicken broth mixed with water on Dante's dry food & at night he gets the plain dry food.
This wet food is really just a treat, as are a few table scraps fvrom time to time.

DH just called & is on his way home. Apparentkly this weeknd is antlerless deer huning weekend so he cannot be out there "in the way" oh joy--now I will have him u nder foot--we need to think of something to do.

But right nowe I must go and get dressed & put some wahc in teh machine, so I "look" busy.... idea wavy

Today it is warmer than it has been in a month but I am still cold. I booted the heat up a bit but put a hoodie on as well. Don't really understand why it feels so cold when the sun is shining and the wind has finally died down.

I moved ashes out and firewood in. I need to bring up one more wheelbarrow of wood for the back porch. I don't really need to but like to have it there in case.
I still do not know what I want to do with my day. I have a long list of things to do but none of them are appealing to me right now.

Good morning. It is super chilly today. Dropped down into the 20's last night. No snow or anything, I'll take plain old cold over snow and ice. Aros landed a few jobs, which is good since his ex hasn't paid support yet and we have no way of knowing whether or not she will. She was late last time but we don't trust that shell simply be late again. Today is my busy day at work, tomorrow I have nothing going on except laundry. I can't wait for the rest and relaxation. No big plans for new years, we're kind of broke at the moment so we'll do something simple, just the five of us.

Simple is how I plan my new years, Cheryl. I don't like to be out on the roads with the partying crowds. Not on the Eve nor the next day.

Cheryl ~ I hope Aros's EX comes through with what she owes you guys!

We always do an "at home" party for New Year's Eve; we like it best. And we DO manage to have a good bit of fun, even making crazy party hats out of leftover Christmas decorations odds & ends. We play games, watch a movie, eat fun things we don't eat all year & watch the ball drop.

Two more packages arrived for Maxi today. One is a beautiful deep red sweater a friend in CT sent him & the other is the new shoes the orthotics guy ordered for him. I think he is going to be very pleased. And I'm going to have to take a picture of him ready for school w/ the sweater under his blazer & the new shoes. He'll be STYLIN', Mr. Max!!

I am thinking of trying Dryel (sp?) that "dry cleaning" process which works in the dryer. Have any of you tried it?

I've been wondering about Dodge & Nana. Have they been on and I've just missed them?

I'm here making dinner for myself. Maxi is staying an extra night at his dad's because they STILL haven't exchanged gifts yet! I hate the crazy way these people choose to live.

I couldn't decide what to cook for myself, so I'm steaming some rice and also heating up the clam chowder I made yesterday. One or the other will please me when I get ready to actually eat.

The agency never did send a replacement girl today & I'm not sure about tomorrow. They did say they have someone for next week though.

Good thing because I have a busy week ahead.

it is nice that you have your food for supper ready---when it is time, your stomach will know waht it wants & there you have it all ready.

I guess time spent with His dad & brothers is good for maxi no matter the reason. he knows how things should be run from living with you, merme so not to worry.

I have to go soon & fix supper---DH just asked me when we were going ot eat--so I will take care of that soon.

Hi Nana is here and doing okay,,,,
Joe was told he couldn't work overtime today- would have been 7 straight so they decided he was to expensive to pay... so we got up and had breakfast at Village Inn, then went to Best Buy to see if they had the accessories for my new E Reader... no they don't- ... neither did Target... though both sold the reader... oh well will order them off the net I guess... did I mention I love the thing....!
We then went to Sam's and Albertson's for groceries...by this time our snow (yes we finally are getting some) started coming down pretty hard... we may get as much as 10 inches by morning... I see shoveling in our morning ...LOL!
Well off to make some enchiladas out of leftover turkey... nice warm comfort food...

Sounds like a good day, Nana. Isn't it frustrating to not be able to get the spare parts you need where you purchase something? Like being able to buy a vacuum but the place does not sell the needed belts or bags or filters, etc.
I had a good dinner of leftovers. I'm thinking of doing up a mess of finger foods for New Years Day. There is a potluck I may or may not attend.

Good Morning...
It is very cold this early morning- we only got about 6 inches so far- still coming down a little bit- to cold though to snow much more.... high is supposed to be between 10* and 12*... wind chill makes it -8* right now....
I have hot coffee going- hot choc too.... warmed up the banana bread and a bunch of different kinds of muffins...

Joe is on his way to work ... I may just go back to bed .. woke up to early ... just have to wait to take rest of meds since I took the first one already- no boys for me till Mon... dad works but gets off early today and Carrie closes tonight... Jon will probably take her and pick her up...
Well off to get hubby our the door...'

Brrr, Nana. And I was feeling sorry for myself with low 30's overnight.
I had a molasses attack n my computer this morning but it seems like a few scans straightened me out. Maybe it got cold too.
Today is paying bills and budgeting day. So glad I am able!

Hi Tina,
When it is this cold I keep heater on in my office- I think it can't be good for the puter to get that cold.... and my office is coldest in house... end of hallway..
I did my bill paying and figured out next month budget yesterday...and today ordered my cover for my ebook- or tried- it's on back order but at least I will get one eventually... always good to be able to pay the bills... even better when there is something you can put away...
I went out and shoveled the drive and sidewalk ... had to do it in stages... my hands got to cold even with gloves on-- even put my hat on and I hate hats but boys better than ears freezing off... had myself a cup of hot choc too... ... may go have another one too... I am still cold.
Well going to go mop... may even vacuum... gotta take advantage when boys aren't here...
Nana

I got my bills paid with some left over. That is exciting. Putting some by is very nice when I can.
I brought in 2 loads of wood and have one more to go. And my yard is all raked up. Most of the leaves are off the trees but there is still some stubborn ones left on. They clung through 775 mph winds. The next warm spell will have my pond cleaned out. The leaves make a mess in there and I'm not as diligent about cleaning them out since I have no fish left.
Off to get that last load then I guess a nap.

Just dropping ion to say HI.

We had tonados go thru today---we lost power "for an undetermined reason" for about 4 hours. I got home on the tail end of it----I drove thru rain that was coming down so hard that I could not see to dive. BUT I got lucky---about the place where I knew there was a place for me to pull over the rain virtually stopped. I was so v ery thankful

I almost got to go out to eat because of the lack of p ower, but now that it is on I am cooking again rolz

I wil be back later tonight to have a drinky or 2 with ya all..... wavy

THEN...I will begin to drink !!! I for sure want to havwe room in my stomach for the meat !!!

I have some Asti and some Zinfandel wines.

BUT since my SIL to-be brought me lots of homemade wine, I will start on that because that is already opened. The Asti I will save for another day...
