Aha, I've never worked with yeast. Something to accomplish one day for sure. Sorry it took me so long to respond. I forgot to put this new CH as a watch topic and kept waiting for an email that never came. I need to get to bed. I've had a rough evening and if there is snow on the ground tomorrow I'm walking to work. We're expected to get anywhere between one and three inches. Hopefully it'll just stay cold and windy all night.

wavy Good morning, everybody!

Today is a messy weather day in Maine. Various parts of our state are getting snow, sleet & rain. Lovely! Winter is upon us.

Getting Maxi ready for school, so I'll be back later.

Hi again.

I got Maxi out the door on time, happily enough.

It is cold and damp here.

Hope Carol comes back soon.

I'm having oatmeal w/ dried cranberries added. It felt too damp & cold here to eat anything less warming.

Maxi's ride never showed up so he is back inside, waiting for my girl to arrive at 8 to take him up to the school....

It will be okay, Tamara. Just spend some of this bad weather time planning what you'd like to do in the spring. That'll cheer you up some!

oops, I was off doing laundry.

Yes, I'll be spending lots of time in the house thinking..DH didn't put studded tires on the truck this Winter so I won't be driving/getting out too far.

I must get a move on..I need to pick up the baby in a few hours before the snow starts.

Well, we've been having an exciting morning!

Maxi's ride didn't show up! So we had to wait until 8 when my girl arrived & asked her if she minded taking him? It is a 40 minute ride one way, so of course I offered her gas money. They left and I called the school to explain his lateness.

Now we are scrambling to get everything done we should have done earlier & now it is almost time for me to get my shower before dialysis.

See you all later!

Good morning. No alarm clocks for me. It was nice to sleep in a little and wake when I wanted.
It is a chilly morning but not raining. I have no major plans for my day.

madd It's snowing. And it's not stopping. We didn't do any thanksgiving shopping last night because we got into a fight. I hate driving in snow. We have too many idiot drivers that have no clue how to drive when it snows. There have been accidents all morning. At least this time they're trying to keep the main roads clear. They pre-treated last night and they're actually going to use salt. Seattle has never used salt. They never even plowed to the side of the road. They would pile it up in the middle of the road. Finally this city has learned the right way to do things. Only problem is that the entire city only has 30 plows. I'm going to try to leave work early so I can do the shopping. There are so many things aggravating me right now that I'm not entirely looking forward to the holiday. Hope I feel better by then.

Hello,
We don't have snow yet but it sure looks like it might tonight.. cold too..
My roofer decided to show up today and deliver the shingles today .. and do the roof tomorrow... so will have to go to carrie's tomorrow for the day after they arrive- wanted to start cooking but guess I will do it wednesday now...he is afraid the weather will get to bad next week to do it... oh well... Carrie and I went Christmas shopping this morning... got a good start on it... now I need to wrap and hide... got to clean house first though... at least that will get done today... most of it...
I will have Joe bring up my serving dishes and platters and the table I use as a buffet too... then I will have a place to put it all..

Well off to finish vacumming and then on to kitchen.. making chicken fried steak tonight .. so got to cut that up too... at least vacuum will drowned out the banging on my roof...
Nana

We have snow up the mountain but not here at my level.
Jonni came in this morning and sprung a surprise pot luck on me for tomorrow for about 30 of her friends. She is taking food to Los Angeles for this affair. I ended up going out and shopping for it all. Going to spend the rest of the evening getting up some sides for her. I am glad she is doing it because it is a beneficial thing for many who haven't got much. So 10 pounds of salad and dressings and 8 doz mixed variety rolls and 4 pounds of butter. These are things that should travel well for the hours they need to. And pretty fun for me although I would like more time to plan things next time.

Thanks Tamara.. we do need the roof.. missing shingles and it is at least 17 yrs since it was replaced... we just took down all the pictures and my dolls and vases from shelves.. they said they might vibrate off with the hammering... hoping it only takes them one day... have to be here to cook on Wed.. don't like doing it all in one day..
Joe had to move all the kids bikes and the 2 elec ride toys to the other side of the yard too.. hopeing it doesn't snow tonight... supposed to just be cold... which it is ..33* tonight..
Well off to finish folding clothes... going to try and go to sleep early,, they will be here early to start.

Aw these days are killer, I mean I know we get cold and snow and such..but it gets so grey and gloomy outside it seems to take the energy right out of a person.

..and after freezing to put up lights..I still don't have enough rolz Only two thirds of the tree is covered and they are spaced to far apart.

PHEW! I just got home!

I went to Maxi's bank, the post office, my bank, the dollar store, the grocery store, & the smoke shop. I am exhausted!

Knowing how wiped out I'd be, I bought us salads at the salad bar at the grocery & bought us a small pork pie to shove in the oven when I got home.

It is cold, wet and foggy out there today.

Tonight for dinner we are having corn fritters, bacon & eggs, I think.

I also bought some nice items I am going to include in the Avon gift baskets I am making for gift sales. I ordered a bunch of nice things from Avon which will arrive on Friday, so today I picked up non-Avon items to round out the baskets. I am trying to keep the cost of each basket down so I can sell them for $15 to $25 (the ones with the jewelry). Next year this will be easier to do as I'll have more inventory on hand, but at least this is a start.

I'm also going to tell my customers I can make Valentine's baskets.

Tam, it always amazes me how many lights it actually takes to do a tree or a porch or around windows. Lots more than I estimate! lol

Sorry I didn't acknowledge your post sooner but I got sidetracked by proof-reading an English paper for my attendant. It takes careful proofing because she is still learning English usage though her writing skills are strong.

No prob Merme, lots of times I get overwhelmed by all the posts and kind of skip posting on most lol

Mopped myself into the corner for a bit..yes, I thought for sure i'd have enough but being so cold, one can't really stretch the lights out enough either..they freeze all crumpled.

Tam a few years ago my sister Ro & her husband got tired of climbing trees & climbing around the several roofs of their large home to hang lights so they just bought one single color wheel. They poke it into the ground & turn it on, and it spins various colors onto the front of their white house. Ta-da! It's Christmas! lol

Maxi does our porch, YAY! but we don't do lights until after Thanksgiving dinner. Or if we do, because of weather considerations, we don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving dinner is over. Which for us is this Thursday.

I am feeling pretty good. I had to do a much better job cleaning my air tight stack today. It was not working properly and was not safe. I quit burning in it a couple days ago and used a space heater. Now I have it working well and am filthy. I brought in wood and need to go shower.

Hi everyone. Couldn't check in earlier. Work was really busy today. Not only did we keep getting snow all day, it got really cold last night and we were hit with a wind storm. The roads are all a sheet of ice and many people couldn't make it work and most of the ones who did make it got here late. So much for the better snow plan. I walked to work this morning and school was cancelled last night. Kids were happy about that. Today's high was supposed to reach 27 and I don't think we've made that high. Tonights lows are to be between 8 and 15 degrees and hopefully tomorrow we'll get warm enough to melt some of this. I left work a little early yesterday and got Aros to help me with the grocery shopping before it got too bad on the roads. Good thing we did because I'm not driving anywhere today. We're all stocked up on food and thanksgiving dinner is covered. I still need to buy one thing that I can't get at myregular store though. Hopefully I can make it tomorrow otherwise I'll do without.

Take care both of you, Cheryl and Tamara. My friend, Sheli, is down here visiting me from the Seattle area. I think she is happy to be missing this. Her son in Portland, Ore and other son in Seattle, Wa. are texting here about it all. Everyone keep warm and safe.

I made it home safely from work, before it got dark. A bit slippery in some areas but overall not so bad. Glad I didn't drive though. School is canceled again tomorrow, the kids are happy about that. I'll be walking again to work tomorrow but should be okay to make it to the store after I get home. We need more fire logs and I need to pick up some gluten free bread for my stuffing. Supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow and hopefully sunny again so that we'll see a little bit of melting. I think a hot bath and an early bedtime are in order for me tonight. Gotta a long day tomorrow and will be super busy at work so not sure that I'll have a chance to get in here until after work.
