Tina, isn't it frustrating..I found my problem was my printer trying to get updates(I shut it off from my start-up programs)..who would have ever thought of such a thing, printer updates..geez.

I am sitting waiting on a phone call before I can head out to do errands..

Yes, I only plug in my printer when I need to print something. Well, whatever happened has my computer running more normal now so I am happy for the time being. Until next time.

OK, I need to stop watching the news..I get so upset all the time. There seems to be so much despair out there. Whatever happened to the 'good things' in life?? I haven't seen a 'good report' in weeks.

I am sorry, Tamara. Somethings are just sad or bad. Our news does try to temper the bad with good things. Or look for the most positive within the disasters in peoples lives. It does make it easier to swallow.

Yesterday an 8 year old boy was run over by his father's diesel truck which had rolled backwards w/out anyone inside of it.

Wonderfully, the kid is okay although he is in the hospital. They interviewed the dad & the boy together & the kid really is alright although the truck did actually run over him & not just knock him down.

I like those feel good stories!!

It's just that everything seems to get to me lately. For instance, Social Services in British Columbia was called by neighbours to give help to a woman who they noticed was extremely sick and has a 14 yr old girl with Downs Syndrome. Well they waited two weeks to check in on them..and found the mother had been dead for about 9 days and the girl was laying with her in the bed waiting on her to wake up. The girl is in the hospital with extreme dehydration...

I find my mind doesn't 'settle' lately..like it runs things over and over. Like well why didn't someone kick in the door, call the police..why wasn't someone sent right away..

I need to just keep the television shut off for a bit..

I don't watch the news at all, and don't get the newspaper...
...I have no idea what's going on in the world and in my hometown.

As the famous line in "A Few Good Men" states..."I CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"

really can you count on hearing the truth anyway??/ Just because you hear something on the TV or radio does not necessarily mean it is the truth---

This is actually a wee little fear of mine. And I have back up plans to aid in not being in this situation, at least for very long. People are aware that Ted and I are alone when Jonni is gone and check to see if we respond, either by phone or in person.
It is important to plan for things.
I hope the child recovers well and has a very happy future.

I keep the TV on, like it or not, because it prevents me from becoming too myopic to myself & my own life. I don't need to develop a personality that is near-sighted; I gotta keep looking outward.

I listen to the news but then I often chose not to necessarily believe what I hear----

I wish there was something on TV tonight but so far I have not found anything.

well I guess I will go to sleep soon---I really am not tired, but it is time after all.

I watch "House" on Monday, "NCIS" on Tuesday and "Criminal Minds" on Wednesday...3 hours of television a week.
...but the TV is on all the time, on the Weather Channel...with the sound turned down.

If I made the rules around here my TV would be on all the time for noise too.

I used to say I had on The Today Show for the news--but I really thunk it was so there was noise in the house.

Well...since I don't set my clocks back or ahead (I'm protesting the time change) I have no idea what time it is for anyone right now. My clocks say it's 12:46.

I could even confuse you more if I tried, Cindy. It is nice to see you on. I am watching NCIS right now. It is my Tues night thing.

I was a little pissed off at the end of NCIS tonight...because it ended with "...to be continued". Like, what if I die before next Tuesday? Then I won't know what happens at the end.
