For the next chatter.
I am glad your dinner went reasonably well, Carol. I am sorry the girls are sick. I hope they both recover quickly!
I am heading off to bed soon. Sweet dreams.

Good morning, hi Merme.

What a LONG weekend..all the outdoor work is finally finished and we even got all next years firewood cut(although it's still back in the woods, the ground was too soft to use the tractor to haul it out)..next weekend.

Had the baby for a part of the weekend also, they are working on power lines on my mom's street and cut off power for 6 hours at a time..so I had to take the baby here for the night and day grin

Still need to read back and catch up..my computer wouldn't turn pages last night..ran everything I had and nothing was found.

Hi Tina..

Planning to spend mine cleaning..as usual lol

We took the facings off all our windows this weekend and re-insulated. We had used foam insulation(which they recommended with the new windows we put in the other year)but it just doesn't work for our area..not enough R value so we had to use the yellow picky kind. Needless to say the house needs a good mop down again. That stuff gets everywhere no matter how hard you try to keep it contained.

I have never insulated my windows, Tamara. And due to house settling things not all of mine close really tightly anyway. So there are little gaps. It is a good thing we like fresh air! I know if I lived in your climate, it would be different though.

Here, we even have to use insulated 'pads' over our light and outlets..its a foam that you cover the box with then put on the switch plate. Wishing they could come up with a better system for our dryer vents...they freeze right through the walls.

Good morning everyone.

well, the house is fairly tight here--but the only insulation is that wrap that all builders use now---we thought sure our heating/cooling bills were gonna be thru the roof & surprisingly they are not. So far teh windows are ok too. We will hope.

Tamara--out at teh farm we used the yellow (or pink) batting stuff too for around the windows. it worked great.

Today I made a few phone calls, got nothign accomplished and now soon will go to therapy. (better than calling it rehab. haha)

DH will get spaghetti again tonight as I have plenty of sauce left.
I think after that I will freeze the rest of the sauce for when I am running late some day.

Valarie made potesa (nut roll) and brought it last night MMMMMMMMMM.
I froze individual pieces for me to have time to time & I am having one for breakfast today. applaud angdev
It sure is good.

Hi all,
I just finished making apot of chicken noodle soup ... mostly leftovers ... it is cooling so I can put it in containers for freezer...
future lunches for me...
We has rain- then snow - then rain again - the sun came out- and now it is clouding up again... mtns are getting a lot of snow and hope they keep it... it is cold though- only 37*... There was a big ,34 vehicle pileup in Larkspur, 13 people hurt but no fatalities... ice on road they said... they took people to 4 or 5 different hospitals... sure glad I don't go out driving in this kind of mess...
Well off to find something else to do... no kids today... may be forced to go read and book and relax some...LOL!
Nana

Relaxing would be good for you, Nana. Chicken noodle sounds good too. I did a mess of meatballs for the freezer this weekend. I don't like most commercial ones. They are rocks.
I am done with my day until I need to do something about dinner. So a nap will be had.

I haven't gotten any email notifications all day and I was starting to wonder where everyone was. Duh, new CH that isn't a watched topic yet. lol Even when I don't check in I still keep up with everyone. Carol, sorry your girls are sick. Congrats on graduating cardiac rehab. Ceramics tomorrow, no? Tamara, I didn't even know there was a such thing as window insulation. I could never survive your climate. Tina, is your company coming soon? Enjoy your nice day. It's dark and gloomy and wet around here. Better get used to it though, we're like this more than not until at least February. Work is better, still weird but not bad for me anymore. My physical therapist is thinking of letting me try a run/walk session on friday or Saturday. She's bumped up my exercises and I was actually sore after my last pt session. We're moving into building strength back. I can't wait to be running again.

About the cardiac rehab... blush I have no idea what I did but I miss typed. I ment to say I was off TO therapy---not even near being done---so sorry.

and yes ceramics tomorrow--applaud--at least I hope. No one has called me & said anything to the contrary.

Sounds like your therapy is going well. that is so good to hear.

about the e-mail notifications---I keep getting them no matter if it is an old CH or a new one---perhaps you should go and recheck your settings???

Do they help with your dietary needs at heart rehab, Carol? I was wondering.
I took a nice little snooze-y nap. And I snacked when I got up so dinner will be a while yet.
Life is nice on the west coast even though the sun sinks too early.

They are supposed to. But apparently they do not---
It seems there IS a dietition that will be glad to answer my questions---
so I have to KNOW what to ask--so no help for me--- I was led to believe that there would be classes to help me learn what to eat & how to eat.
I will wait to speak to the dietitian in Springfield when I go for the test that is schedulaed for in December..

For now I will muddle by

Carol, at the very least you could begin w/ really generic questions such as "Do you have any American Heart Association recipes I could have?" Many dietitians keep scads of that sort of thing hanging about.

The AHA is a marvelous resource you should try to connect with, Carol. There is no reason to not get all the help you need -- oh, not just to eat what is required but to also learn recipes you will actually enjoy.

And remember, dietitians are quite clever. If you mention a favorite recipe that is now deemed unhealthy for you, ask her how you might fix it? You might be pleasantly surprised w/ the reply.

Merme, you are likely right.
But I think I will start a list of questions to ask the dietitian that I have an appointment with the day of my next test at teh hospital that I was at after teh attack.---I just thought I could have this a bit better under control by then- (December) But oh well--- They are very good at what they do at this Hospital, so I can be patient---you made a very good point. I should have questions ready for her--and so I shall---

Good night everyone. sweet dreams

I know what you mean--this going to therapy 3 times a week may sound like fun--and yes the exercise equiptment is nice, but it really takes a large part of of my day---and really messes up the week.

but oh well---I am looking at trying to get there earlier in the morning--(they open at 6:30) that should help....

still, have a good day.

I hope to be home this afternoon

Hi again everybody!

I went back to bed this morning after Maxi left for school. I had short sleep the night before and last night as well, so I had to catch up a bit.

They are forecasting a big rain storm will roll in here tonight with very high winds through tomorrow. I hope it remains as rain when it works its way up to Tamara's area.

Errands here today as well, plus PT this afternoon.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Hi Merme, they are not sure yet if it will be rain or snow. And I have appointments to go to tomorrow and Thursday in town. Hoping for just rain..

Morning everyone. We had a little wind storm last night. I had the kids take out the trash just so the garbage can would stop blowing down the street. Our lights flickered a lot too. In the nearly 8 years I've lived in this house we've never had a storm knock out our power. Lots of power flickers but that's it and I'm thankful for that. Not too busy of a day at work today. I walked for 20 minutes on my treadmill last night and then stretched for about a half hour. Felt good to do something. Today is PT and I'm not sure what they have in store for me but I brought work out clothes to change into. I plan on going for a walk with my co-worker at some point today also.

Good morning. I have slow computer issues this morning. Running scans and things to clean it up.
