triss its from all the junk at the bottom of the ponds, ya usaly do have ta drain ,refill a few times to wash out all the mud at the bottom. if not youll have muddy water.
actually, christy, that was the first drain... i used a syphon hose and "vacummed" the bottome to get the muck out. then, the tiers were not lined up right... then the hose to the pump came out of the top tier... then matthew left the water on too long...
and triss, i got that one as a kit from kmart on clearance for $50. regular price was around $75. three years ago.
well, if it makes you feel any better, i want another one! and another one, and another one! this one has been so easy to care for, i think i want more...
i don't know what kind of plants they are i know that there is some kind of rush pickeral, and something else, cindy sent them to me and then there is the one lily, some duckweed, parrot's feather, and a single water hyacinth that made it through the winter (it is no bigger than a quater right now) and i just bought a single water lettuce. i know they will be big enough soon enough
You got rid of your old pond????? Your original one? I guess it was too much work with 2 right? Did you transfer all the fish that were in it to your big one?

CINDY--------WHY? did you fall into it 1 too many times???
njoynit----if you get any underwater lights, the bulb lasts longer if it is not actually underwater. i have mine in my stream bed. my mom used her's down in her pond and it kept going out, then she put her's in the stream and it lasts longer. those little bulbs are like $4 and $5 a piece.
