I'm zone 6a/Toronto, Canada . . . am I supposed to bring canna bulbs in for the winter?

Or should I just leave 'em in the ground?

The way I understand it that they need to be lifted any zone under 8.
They are a plant I cut to the ground as winter sets in. They will do best even in my zone 9 if covered/mulched for winter and kept as warm as possible.
