I love the colours of Blue Jays they are so pretty.
That first photo of the cardinal is great! I love how the bird blends into the background.

Shani,

Thanks so much ..I noticed that also how they blend in.
I have that burning bush there an it turns red in the fall.
You will notice Butterflys also do the blend in thing .

Watch where they land.

Nature is so cool the way that two things so different(like a bird and a bush)can just blend together and generally not be notice.
There are days I wish I could.
Thanks for sharing the photo.

I LOVE Burning Bush . Ours were killed by the drought a couple of years ago.

That first picture is an immature Cardinal that was born this spring. You can tell by the dark and light streaking on its bill and the dark gray coloration that is just starting to turn red. And of course, I LOVE Blue Jays! Put some raw peanuts, IN the SHELL, out on the ground or a flat surface to attract Blue Jays. They LOVE those!

Around here you can hold raw peanuts in your hand and the jays will come and get them. But once you begin you had better keep it up or they get pretty mad about it. And vocal.
