Hi Everyone,
I am a newbee and I love plants. I was given a transplanted Jade plant. The original plant was huge! This stalk is about 4 in around. She got 21 cuttings from the original! The lady had this transplant outside in full sun and she gave it to me and I transported it from Rice Mn to Cornucopia WI about 3 1/2 hour trip (so I'm sure it is in shock a little. It got bounced around a little) and I have it in the house in a cool entry way where it gets the most sun. I think she said the cutting was about a month or 2 old.
I notived spider mites when we got to WI so I sprayed it with a water/biodegradable soap mixture and then wiped off the leaves with a soft cloth. It is sprouting new growth all over but it is losing a few leaves. They are shriveling and turnung yellowish color. She said she watered it before she gave it to me and she reotted this cutting in potting soil with miracle grow in the dirt. I put my finger about 3 in in the dirt and it is still a little damp. Should I repot it in equal portions of sand and potting soil? Please help me I sure would hate to lose this beautiful plant and I would take a cutting right away if it takes a big turn for the worse.
I'm sure it isn't getting enough sun so I have a grow lamp on it. I'm going to move it to a window spot on the south side in a couple days. I want to wait if I have to transplant it so I only move it once.
Thank you all for your help. This is a great place with tons of information. Thanks again!
