Hello,
I finally finished the basement yesterday.. and it's all donated to an organization that helps kids with learning disabilites... anything else will go to Goodwill... but for now I am done... do have to put all our millions of pictures in boxes and then in the big rubbermaid containers... they will stack in my office.
I have chicken cooking in the roaster oven too... laundry is done and ready to be folded and ironed... Joe and I took a long walk thru our neighborhood too... he is very bored cause he isn't supposed to do any lifting .. chores a mostly done in the house... he can't stand not doing anything... going to be a long time between now and when he is recovered from the hernia surgery....
Well off to go finish up laundry folding and get it put away... sure is nice to feel more like me again...
Nana

We had a very stressful day here. I am glad it is over! thumbup

Cheryl ~ I'm glad Joey gets to ride the bus for the first time. I think he will enjoy that! And perhaps Ashley will settle in to a very good year.

Sherri ~ Hopefully Joe will have a speedy recovery time. You've gotten so much done, as always.... wish you'd come here and give me a few pointers! lol

Mornin' folks! First time here in a LOOONG time. Learning to live alone again is getting easier. Actually, my son, his wife, their two kids, two dogs, and two cats have moved in with me. There is plenty of room and everybody benefits from this arrangement. My wife wanted it this way and also tells me to socialize as much as I can. I have bought a state of the art webcam and mike, and tripled the hard drive space in my computer. I have also found a FREE website, that provides private chatrooms set up for webcams, microphones, keyboards, or a combination of these. It is called tinychat and is wonderful. A single room on the site can handle DOZENS of people at once. I meet every night there with friends, for wine, refreshment, music,,art sharing, and friendly banter. There are 20 of us on there at the same time from 3 or 4 different COUNTRIES and it's all FREE and unlimited for everyone! We have several folk from England and Canada, a couple from South America, and the rest of us are from all over the U.S. I thought it might be fun to set one of these up for the folks here, so let me know what you think! That's all for now!

OK, I THINK I've created a chatroom for us the link is hxxp://tinychat.com/thornius, replace the "xx" with "tt", and the password, if needed is, Willy. Stop by if you want. You can type, talk, use a webcam, or all three. It's FUN!

K, all caught up on the coffeehouses.

Well in all the turmoil that has been happening I completely lost my vegetable garden...I don't think a thing has been spared but honestly that's the last of my worries this year. I'll try get to a farmers market for supplies and if not, things will be store bought.

Baby is doing good, weighs 9 pounds 6 ounces. She is such a blessing in our lives.

We've had some nasty storms these past few weeks, we had a horrible heat wave, hotter than anyone has ever seen around here ever, the pave on the roads was melting..if that gives you any idea lol ..then it has been followed by a tropical storm and heavy rain and winds continuously for days..what a mess. Things have fared well though, we have no damage so far to anything.

Hoping all is well with everyone.

So good to have you back---
So sorry about the turmoil and all the issues it has been causing but yes, loss of a few garden veggies is no big deal.
That is why there are farmer's markets--just like you said.

PLus your family could use with a year of store bought. That would be a good reminder to them of all that you do for them. bow

Road melting ??? wow--that IS hot !!! and here I thought your heat wave was over----So sorry to hear about the storms as well.

Great news about the baby though. I am sure she is a real blessing. It makles me smile just to think of her....

Good morning all. It is very nice to see you back, Tamara.
I am glad you are not completely alone, Thorny.
We have had very, very cool weather for us and broke records for the lowest 'highs' yesterday. I am not ready to crank up my wood stoves though.

ok the deliver truck came and left me a new (well differnt) freezer. I am not convinced it is a dew one--there are dirt marks on it, so I am thinking it is the display model.
But I guess if it works well then so what, right???

I called the sales man but he was not in yet.

On to other projects now........

A new freezer, you lucky girl you, Carol! Congratulations!

Well, the string beans are blanched, frozen and bagged. The corn pudding has been assembled & is in the fridge. When I get home tonight it will go in the boiling water bath in the oven for an hour while I bake the sweet potatoes. Maxi will toss the beef tips on the grill.

If the rain holds off, that is!

Morning everyone. Seems like landed suddenly. One day it was warm and sunny, the next day it was cold and raining. We've been having rain in the morning and sun in the afternoon so it's not so bad. I'm getting nervous for my appointment tomorrow. Last time I had anallergic reaction and while I'm sure they'll use something different I'm still worried. I have a race on Sunday and I don't want to miss it. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts. My order came early today. Busy day at work, see you all later.

Well then, I'd demand the 'display model price' or they could come take it back and refund all the money thumbup

Thanks for all the welcome backs...

I have been outside in my shed for a bit..I have snakes again. I wish I could find the momma, each year she lays eggs in the same spot tapfoot

thanks tamara--I would agree but I cannot prove it---the kid who delivered it said that they remove the box before they bring it out to make sure there are no dents---but the top was & is all dirty.

This is waht I get for going to a Sears.
I have always head0--yo get what you pay for.

& I was talking to the delivery kid about my old freezer & he says yes, they have a frigidare at home too.
Oh well it is out there now---and it is noisy...

You are welocme about the welcome backs---we were beginning to worry--so glad to have you back.

Sorry to hear about the snakes.

Hi all,
I just went thru to pack up not sort all my pictures.. they are now in 2 big rubbermaid and one slightly smaller one.... sitting in corner of my office... they are really heavy so will wait for Joseph P to come help me stack them, that doesn't count the ones in 2 suitcases- my childhood ones and the ones that were my Mom's..
I have to find a couple room size rugs now- kmart used to sell them so will head there next time I have time to go.. will help keep the basement warmer this winter for boys to be down there...
Well off to get busy elsewhere.. got chicken to bag and freeze... got to figure out something for dinner... and need to go find something for lunch...

Good luck, Carol. Prayers. I may try my tax office again.
I have dumped all of our photos in some plastic bins as well. My kids will have a nice nightmare figuring out the keepers and trying to figure who is who in there. I labeled all of mine but not all of the older family photos are labeled.

I'm taking a short break from cooking. The lasagna and potato salad are done, now I'm waiting on the pork chops. I brushed on plenty off BBQ sauce, so they should be good.
