...Or my computer does. Dodge gave me a site to download a free avg program but it's been loading since noon. I think the virus is stopping it from completing the download. Is that possible? Is there anything I can to make it work?

I have malwarebytes, microsoft security essentials, ccleaner, spyzooka 2.5 but nothing seems to help.

Yes, a virus can stop a fixit from downloading. I am sorry, Tammy. I am not a computer expert. I hope the computer guy shows up soon to help you.

Sometimes other antivirus programs stop others from downloading too. Did you post a question for Mr. Gizmo? James? You might have to remove the other scans you have on now and download a new one.

Try using Avast, it's free and it's better than AVG (and a lot of the "paid" ones too)...

Do you know how to restore your machine to an earlier date when you didnt have the virus? Say June 15 or sometime.

A virus usually knocks out 'system restore'.

Honestly, she's going to have to get it 'cleaned' at a computer place..the virus will eventually crash the computer. That's what happened to mine, it even took out the hard drive with it.

I'm thinking computer manufacturers are hiring people to plan in obsolescence so we have to buy new. (knock on wood)

You might have a point here.

My new dell went out completly. Too it back. My internet said it was my machine.

They tried to sell me more warrantys. I already bought one for 89 dollars.
Told them I wasnt paying a penny more. They had it 2 weeks , no call no nothing.
I went back an took it home . It worked?????????

I really thought it was dell an $$$$$
Then I read on line of how Dell keeps selling warrantys an dont fix the machine. Wont even call back.
So what happens next? i am ripped off .

A lot of younger people fix computers around here..we have one guy that takes your computer and $80 and when he is done, it is formatted brand new. He completely wipes out and re-installs everything. He done mine..I was amazed.

You might have to save Avast to your hard drive and reboot into Safe Mode with Networking and then run the avast...

I'd probably say you might want to go to Staples or Best Buy and inquire as to the price to remove a virus from your system...
